About the Artist
In the early 1960's, four high school students hailing from Paterson, N.J. formed a vocal group called The Four Graduates and they quickly began to gain local prominence for their unique sound. In 1966, they changed their name to The Happenings and recorded and released what would become their first hit record "See You In September." With the monumental success of this record, they would go on to record "Go Away Little Girl," "I Got Rhythm," "My Mammy," and an entire catalogue of hit albums. The Happenings would continue to enjoy their remarkable success as they performed in major venues throughout the U.S.,Europe, and South America. They would appear on the most prominent television shows of the time, including seven appearences on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Like so many icons of this magical time in our history, the quality sound of this landmark group still prevails, and now spans nearly 40 years. Today the group consists of three principal members, including Bob Miranda, original lead singer and author of some of The Happenings more recognized records; Bob Kulik, high tenor and percussionist; and George Rizzi, guitarist, saxophonist, and arranger. The Happenings continue to prosper and still appear in major venues all over the world.
