Editorial Reviews

"Recently [Rodríguez] has focused on the still unsolved problems of post-Katrina New Orleans and its evacuees in Texas. As usual, the stories are not easy ones to tell." --American Photo Magazine

"Rodríguez's photographs are a stark view of New Orleans after Katrina that pulse with the grittiness of an unforgiving reality."

Format: Hardcover
The personal lives of the survivors of Hurricane Katrina have been laid out for all to see in this great new installation by New York City photographer Joseph Rodriguez. With over 100,000 refugees still not returned to New Orleans, the book answers the question it also poses-- "where have they gone?" Highlighted are the diverse classes that were displaced almost three years ago, as well as other people involved in the evacuation and reconstruction of the city. The book shows and tells what the liberal news media still cannot and will not, and what the federal government chooses to ignore. Lastly, the humanity, humility, and sadness of the portraits-- coupled with the words they share with the rest of the world-- is something unique and never before seen.
