Movie was personal for me, since they were friends, July 5, 2005
This review is from: Still Holding On: The Legend of Cadillac Jack (DVD)
I lived in Texas during the time this movie took place and Tommy was actually a friend. They made him a small child for the movie, but he was in high school when Jack was incarcerated. His wife Shelia was one of my best friends. I wish they'd shown in the credits that it was Jack and Ponder's son Tommy who played the jury foreman that pronounced Jack "Not Guilty!".
The heartache and frustrations during the time Jack was away was real. You can just imagine if it'd happend to you.
You can see some of their real family members behind Lisa and Clint in the courtroom scenes and also in the rodeo crowds.
Jack needs to be inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame. He earned it!

Great movie - with some values/morals..., July 30, 2009
This review is from: Still Holding On: The Legend of Cadillac Jack (DVD)
I watched this movie when it first aired on TV and I thought it was great. I recently watched it again and still carry the same opinion. Clint Black is not only a great singer, but he was suprisingly a very good actor. He was able to show a range of emotions and some depth of character. Lisa, of course, is stunningly beautiful, as always, and her acting is fantastic. I have always like the two of them in their individual careers and I really enjoy watching them play off of each other in this movie. Since this is based on a true story, I wasn't sure that I would be able to forget who Clint and Lisa are in real life, but I was amazed that I really started believing them as Jack and Ponder. It's a great movie. Well written, produced and acted. I would recommend it to anyone. It's also somewhat family friendly. Not alot of cursing, no nudity or sex scenes. There is some violence which would keep me from showing it to anyone under 10-12 years old depending on maturity level. There is actually also some values portrayed and taught which I find interesting in this time that we live. Great movie.

Great movie..., January 3, 2008
This review is from: Still Holding On: The Legend of Cadillac Jack (DVD)
I enjoyed this movie with Clint Black and his lovely wife. The acting was great and the story was excellent. It was a good movie all around. There is some language so I don't recommend it for the WHOLE family.
One mans triumph over injustice.
