Divorce is probably one of the most traumatic events in a person's life: to have to separate from the one person that you have shared a serious amount of time and intimacies with and possibly had children with, is all about having to change habits, to reinvent oneself. The authors have managed to face this trauma with Humor (with a capital "H"), to get up after they were down, to face life head-on, and with laughter. I admire their strength, their fighting spirit. I know it was not easy, but "Still Hot" makes it look like they could handle anything - it's a terrific book, deep, human and fun. Enjoy.

While in the midst of a divorce reading about it could seem like adding insult to injury. The authors here speak to women at their most vulnerable moment with a touch of humor and understanding that allows readers to open up and be able to take in some of the insight and advice the authors generously share. It's up there together with a best girlfriend giving support during a difficult time.

I've picked the book up three times since I first read it - just to check out some of the anecdotes again, because I love to laugh! The authors nailed it. They don't preach; they don't wallow in self-pity. Life is too short for that. They just make you laugh hysterically, nodding your head at the truisms you're reading, and it doesn't matter a whit if you've never been divorced or even married for that matter. I don't think there's anyone who won't relate to this great book. It's not read it and weep. It's read it and laugh 'til tears stream down your face.

I purchased this book the day after my husband and I filed divorce papers before our two-year anniversary, hoping I would find something to make me laugh, something that would allow me to feel "you're not the only one, sweetie."

While there is nothing wrong with this book, please realise, it is entirely written for "The First Wives' Club" set-- women whose husbands left them during midlife crises, etc. It really has very little to offer on the emotional aspects of marriage (and its end) if you're under forty, or if your now-ex didn't recently purchase a sports car and inappropriately-aged clothing.

This is probably a good choice if you find yourself bitter and ousted by the nanny, but if you're younger and your marriage fell apart for other reasons, save the money for Ben & Jerry's or a girl's night out... you'll feel young reading this (worth at least one review star, and $2), but it just won't help with the chaos of emotions you're feeling.

I just read Jonathan L Lewis's book, "I THOUGHT WE WERE HAPPY: Lessons My Wife Taught Me on the Road to Divorce". I wish I had read it first. I needed to heal the agonizing pain of my ex's affair before getting on with my life - and maybe then I could have rescued my marriage in the process. Ah well ...

"Still Hot" is absolutely hilarious!
Loved it - from the opening something's fishy heads up, "Spotting an Alien", through the comical "Do's and Don'ts" and the spot on "Internet: Cracking the Code" advice, all the way to "Hello Tomorrow."

Funnily enough, "Still Hot" is alive with really useful advice, not only for surviving divorce but also for living modern life. I recommend it for anyone facing any kind of challenge at any time. It is sure to help with keeping things in the proper perspective.

It's smart and funny - and it's got style.

It's refreshing to find a book about divorce that offers no cliche advice or life coaching. Still Hot is an extraordinary satire on divorce, and although they may make you laugh out loud throughout the whole read, Mittenthal and Reing are able to deliver an intelligent, realistic view of divorce.


A must read!

There's nothing better for a broken spirit than a good laugh, and "Still Hot" keeps the laughs coming throughout. Even if you have'nt been through a divorce, there is so much here that we've all experienced. Sue and Linda are so talented - they make you look at problem relationships in a different light. It's great to laugh at people that may have hurt you and move on to better things.

I loved this book! It was such an easy and enjoyable read! the authors' humor, sincerity and whit jumped off the pages.

This delightfully funny book offers practical advice to women confronted with the traumas of divorce. I laughed for days over some of the anecdotes. While humorous, the book offers women a true sense of optimism during what can be a devastating time.
