4.0 out of 5 stars Great film about an artist and his art...
How would you feel if you had painted a masterpiece that your art dealer would only sell if you destroyed it? This film explores the genre of Desconstructionism in a thoughtful way. This was a great film, demonstrating an artist's journey through his own creative and destructive process. If you are a fan of Irish actor Jason Barry (Titanic, 1997), you will love this...

1.0 out of 5 stars Still Warning To You
WARNING: This is an amateur film shot on video. It looks like a Nickelodeon TV show, has mediocre acting, barely passable dialogue, no story, horrid make-up jobs, poor lighting... there is nothing redeemable about this movie. The other reviewers were either friends of cast/crew or part of cast/crew. AVOID.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great film about an artist and his art..., December 20, 2011
This review is from: The Still Life (2007) (DVD)
How would you feel if you had painted a masterpiece that your art dealer would only sell if you destroyed it? This film explores the genre of Desconstructionism in a thoughtful way. This was a great film, demonstrating an artist's journey through his own creative and destructive process. If you are a fan of Irish actor Jason Barry (Titanic, 1997), you will love this movie- it really showcases his best talent. The acting is high-quality and the story is unique and thought-provoking. It is not filmed in amateur style as another commenter had mentioned.

The film is accompanied by some fantastic music by Guns N'Roses, No Doubt, Bad Religion, Skid Row, et.al. I was delighted to open this particular DVD to find a copy of the soundtrack included! The soundtrack alone is worth the experience- it will not disappoint.

All in all, a highly enjoyable film, but I give it 4 stars because of a couple minor scenes that weren't entirely integral to the story. Otherwise, I would certainly give this movie 5 stars. Running time 97 minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's AWESOME!!!, October 13, 2007
This review is from: The Still Life (2007) (DVD)
Love this movie... The guy here who posted whatever he posted doesn't know what he is talking about. He never even watched the movie because he says it is 2.5 hours long and it is actually 97 minutes... This film show what one can do with a limited budget and a lot of ability... If you are a filmmaker or want to be buy this movie! If you are a "critic" say what you want....................
