A pleased Marilyn Monroe Fan, July 17, 2005
This review is from: Still Lifes: Marilyn, Betty, Joe, Jack and Me (Paperback)
This is an interesting item. It's a small book with a short story involving Marilyn Monroe's death and the Kennedy assassination. Bettie Page and Joe Dimaggio make appearances. The book is illustrated with paintings of Monroe, Page, Dimaggio and Kennedy. That's not exactly accurate. The story isn't illustrated like a graphic novel. The pictures are more to set the mood. I haven't really seen anything like this before. It is listed as an art book. As a collector of Marilyn Monroe, I find it a nice addition.

GOOD COLLECTOR'S ITEM, July 24, 2005
This review is from: Still Lifes: Marilyn, Betty, Joe, Jack and Me (Paperback)
I BOUGHT THIS ITEM BECAUSE I HAVE A PAINTING BY THE ARTIST. IT IS AN INTERESTING WAY TO PRESENT HIS ART. THE STORY INVOLVES BETTIE PAGE AND MARILYN MONROE AS DO MOST OF THE PAINTINGS ILLUSTRATED IN IT. IT IS NOT AN ILLUSTRATED STORY. IT'S NOT A BOOK OF PAINTINGS. THE PAINTINGS ARE ACRYLICS PAINTED WITH A BRUSH. THAT'S DIFFERENT THAN MOST OF THE AIRBRUSH AND COMPUTER STUFF DONE TODAY. I LIKE IT.
