5.0 out of 5 stars An informed review by someone who has a brain!!
Upon reading the reviews some sad people have wrote, it is clear that these reviews are mostly written by imbeciles who do not have any creative vision.

As an intelligent person who actually keeps an open mind when listening to music and takes into account all elements before judging, i believe this album, and Corey's music in general is very much...

1.0 out of 5 stars You have GOT to be kidding me!
This is the absolute worst! The vocals are amature, the music is even more so, and the lyrics are something a grade school kid could write! Don't buy this CD, it's a total waste of money!

1.0 out of 5 stars Why?, February 11, 2005

I think this was the original soundtrack submitted, but denied, for The Lost Boys.

The Tom Waits thing he attempts with his "singing" is creepy. It sounds like a 10 year-old trying to do a scary voice or something.
I guess because of the really rough road the industry is riding on(an American Idol singer had a #1 album. I don't think so.), I can forgive a lot of bad music.
But this is not even so-bad-it-makes-it-funny bad. It's much worse.

By the way, for the person that gave it 5 stars: If you are joking, it's cool. However, if you are serious and not deaf, you need to have your hearing checked, or your ears gouged.

1.0 out of 5 stars I'd rather listen to cats in boiling water, June 21, 1999

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA !!!!

I pity anyone who thinks this CD is any good. Clearly you have not been allowed out in the sunlight in a good deal of time. This is CD is so bad it can actually make you go blind and cause your ears to bleed. I urge everyone to steer clear of it. While I do feel bad for Corey Feldman and the current state of his career, this was not the move he should have taken to revive himself or his career. Best wishes on future endeavors, Corey. Lost Boys II perhaps ?

1.0 out of 5 stars Well...., November 11, 2004
This review is from: Still Searching for Soul (Audio CD)
It was a Thursday. I thought it'd be fun to listen to Corey Feldman's entire album, and make fun of it. Hours later.....I am a changed man. I am absolutely amazed with Corey's abilities. Not his writing abilities, or his singing ablilities, but his scientific abilities. While making this album, he discovered a method to convert feces into music! So after I heard the album, I decided to investigate further....

Corey worked on this formula for months. He took a lot of feces, rumor has it, like eighty pounds. He sat around in his aunt's basement(his home), and looked at his family pictures. He thought in his head, of all the horrible stories he made up about his childhood. He pretended in his head, that they were real. Tears fell, and he let them fall into the feces. The feces starting reacting. Suddenly, from the pile of feces, guitars started blaring. Corey needed more tears. So, he looked at posters on the wall, Lost Boys, etc., his old movies. It reminded him of how cruel Hollywood's "You Suck, You Don't Get Work," policy had been to him. More tears. Suddenly, gothic music started coming from the pile of feces. COREY HAD DONE IT! Feces, and the tears of a failure created this CD. He will probably be recognized with many scientific awards.

So, that's how the CD was made. Pretty cool, huh?

Anyway, I later went to a club where two goth girls started making out to "De-Pressed". I'm not sure, but I think they got in the mood because of the clever title, not the lyrics or anything. I mean...people are depressed, but then they are De-Pressed! The difference is simply.........Corey™.

1.0 out of 5 stars Corey Feldman... Rock Star..., June 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Still Searching for Soul (Audio CD)
Corey Feldman has hit an all-time low. Here is kid who has been coked-out since the age of six and even the slightest glance at the path of his career will give evidence to that. His latest laughable failure with this CD is not so much a movement but definitely the truth. The truth being that Feldman is seriously searching for an identity for which he hopefully will never find. I say this because I sometimes find it very entertaining to see someone fail as hilariously as Feldman does with everything he attempts - whether it be in film, video, or this ... music ... thing. Feldman is indeed on a role. Just watch his directorial debut "Busted" and you'll see what I mean. Try not to keep any sharp objects anywhere near you while watching it though -- trust me. And try not to drive for about an hour or two after viewing it. Just get some rest, you'll need it. The same goes for the CD. Also, just look at how Corey F. (F is for Fail) publicly disses everyone in the film industry from Matt Damon to Ben Affleck to Gwyneth Paltrow (regarding Damon and Affleck, Corey says, "It makes me sick everytime I see them because I know it should be me winning an Academy Award."). For what? Best Snorting Actor???!!! Seriously, someone needs to give this kid a smack in the grill. He lives to embarrass himself and with that he has certainly not failed. Keep up the bad work Corey, there are many comedians who need material. If this CD could be given a zero rating, it would definitely get one. And so would Corey.

1.0 out of 5 stars An album that has to be heard to understand, June 18, 2009
This review is from: Still Searching for Soul (Audio CD)
You know how many define the U.S. as Pre and Post 9/11? Once you listen to this album you will define your life as Pre and Post "Corey Feldman's the Truth Movement / Still Searching for Soul". Like, "I used to think Don Johnson's album was the worst album ever, but that was before I heard the Corey Feldman album."

But this album goes beyond bad. It's so bad that once every year and a half to two years, I have to hear it again. Not only to calibrate my taste with an absolute zero, but to also marvel and wonder at the fearlessness of it. This album is so chalked full of clichés that simply calling it cliché is cliché. You've got to hear it.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Still Searching for Soul (Audio CD)
This music is a bit disturbing. It kind of makes me realize that there is something special to creating good music and this does not even come close to it! Without knowing who this artis is (or was), I get the feeling that it is someone with a lot of time on his hands, a dwindling stash of money, no job and a family that has probably distanced themselves from him due to their own serious dysfunction and quest for fleeting material values. I would suggest this person keep dreaming, keep writing and keep recording, but do so in the privacy of his own basement.

Being influenced by Pink Floyd and Tom Waits does not mean it's going to be good! One of a kind is often best left alone! This is absolute garbage!

5.0 out of 5 stars An informed review by someone who has a brain!!, October 5, 2006
This review is from: Still Searching for Soul (Audio CD)
Upon reading the reviews some sad people have wrote, it is clear that these reviews are mostly written by imbeciles who do not have any creative vision.

As an intelligent person who actually keeps an open mind when listening to music and takes into account all elements before judging, i believe this album, and Corey's music in general is very much misunderstood.

Technically speaking, his voice is not great, but i think people are missing the point here!! if he wanted to make people appreciate his singing voice, he would join a boyband (cos then he could just mime and people would think he sounded great when in actual fact he couldn't carry a note in a bucket like all the other boyband members!!) however, the purpose of his music runs much deeper. it is, in fact, his own personal creative expression and that needs to be considered when rating this album.

The fact is, the music needs to be judged, not on his singing ability, or his ability to put together pleasant sounding tunes, but the lyrics and meanings. plus, some tracks have some great guitar work in them, for which you have to listen to the whole song and not just the first few bars!! for people who have a soul and intellect, this album is a must have, lyrically superb and very personal to Corey, which is its charm. for those people who are determined to hate and have no intention of judging the music based on its meaning but simply to criticise the sound, i suggest you steer well clear and resist the temptation to pass judgement and make petty criticisms that totally miss the point. trust me, the world would be a better place without the negativity a lack of education and intellect can instill in some people!!

1.0 out of 5 stars cheese, October 29, 2009
This review is from: Still Searching for Soul (Audio CD)
I can't believe a record company would actually record and sell this. He's a terrible actor, and his music sounds like a kid wrote it. Total cheese. And the funny thing is, he really thinks he's good.

1.0 out of 5 stars I want a refund, June 29, 2009
This review is from: Still Searching for Soul (Audio CD)
I saw Corey and his band perform the entire album live at the Universal City Walk on Saturday night (6/27/09) - the concert was free - but I still want a refund. I want that hour of my life back. It was like watching, and listening to, a train wreck. What made it all the more awful is when we realized he was actually serious about this.

The audience stood in stunned silence for the entire performance.

While I am sure that the man must have talent that lies somewhere, it isn't here. The people giving this one a good review must be die hard Corey fans. There is no other explanation.

We finally walked away and had dinner within earshot of the show. The only thing that indicated that it was over was not the applause and screaming from the audience, but the blessed silence of them leaving the stage.

Go back to acting my man. Whoever told you, 'that track is a keeper' is a celebrity suck-up sycophant. Really dude... this could destroy the remnants of your career. Do you paint or something?
