From the Inside Flap

Carrie Prejean had no idea, when she walked down the stage to face her final question before the selection and crowning of Miss USA, that her hopes, dreams, and reputation were about to come crashing down around her under a torrent of media attacks.

Her crime? To have answered honestly that for her—and for most Americans—marriage is defined as a sacred bond between one man and one woman. For the thought crime of saying this, Carrie Prejean went from being the likely winner of the Miss USA competition to being the certain loser. But worse, she would be subjected to a campaign of vilification, verbal abuse, and betrayal that did not even end with her being stripped of her title of Miss California.

Here at last is Carrie’s own story—the full story—about what actually happened. In Still Standing, you’ll learn:

The behind-the-scenes truth of how and why Carrie’s own pageant directors joined forces with the vicious smear campaign against her
The intimidation that kept many of Carrie’s supporters quiet
How Donald Trump defended her—only to back down under pressure from the pageant directors
Why liberals target conservative women for special persecution
How political correctness is becoming a clear and present danger to free speech

Carrie Prejean endured the hellish nightmare that the liberal media can inflict on anyone who disagrees with their agenda, but her faith, courage, and conviction have made her a role model for how we can stare down the bullies of political correctness and reclaim our God-given rights to freedom of speech, thought, and conscience.

From the Back Cover

Praise for Still Standing

“It took a twenty-two-year old beauty queen to remind America that there’s still such a thing as free speech and that we don’t have to kowtow to political correctness. That makes Carrie Prejean more than a beauty queen—it makes her a heroine.” - Rush Limbaugh

“No one can incite the rage of liberals like a sexy Evangelical Christian, and Carrie Prejean is the smoking hottest Evangelical of them all. Facing a frenzy of attacks from liberals for preferring ‘classic marriage’ to ‘new marriage’ in her answer at a beauty pageant, Prejean proved that there is no rock like the rock of Christianity. Carrie’s admiration for marriage—and her lovely backbone—triggered the liberals’ well-known ‘fight or flight’ syndrome. In this book, Still Standing, Carrie tells all.” - Ann Coulter

That doesnt mean everybody has to like and agree with everything we say.

I did not buy this book but rather I found it left behind on an airplane and decided to give Ms. Prejean a chance.

The book itself is an empty attempt at self glorification with absolutely no real value.

As a professional working with young women I have to say that this woman is an inappropriate role model for young women no matter how you look at her story. Her book is an example of what not to do to gain respect. Her lack of self awareness and her inability to understand her own manipulative nature clearly suggests a young woman with a disturbing point of view about life and its fairness or lack thereof. Ms. Prejean is 22 years old, has made serious errors in judgment and has yet to do anything at all to be proud of. I would rather she live her life, do something with it and then write a memoir about what she has learned. Rather we see a woman who has very little life experience who has used her body and her sexuality to get where she is today and is now claiming to be pure and Christian. Walk the walk Carrie, then tell us what you have learned. So far you have done nothing but take off your clothes and arouse yourself and your boyfriend while taping it and then not being truthful when participating in of all things, a beauty pageant. Holy Moly girl! What were you thinking and why should anyone consider you a role model? I don't get it.

The book itself is an empty attempt at self glorification with absolutely no real value. It is simply a rip off of consumer's money and a girl's attempt to hold on to another few minutes of false fame.

The liberal bias that Carrie sets out to write about is certainly a valid issue for which a strong argument can be made, unfortunately Carrie fails to do that. Instead the book reads like a juvenile gripe that was sometimes uncomfortably embarrassing when the reader knows this is coming from a grown woman. Poorly articulated arguments, filled with hypocrisy (Carrie's conservative values apply to everyone else buy herself). Plus a lack of grace under fire- Carrie is unable to take a critical look on herself instead focuses on putting down everyone who she does not agree with. I wish this was a more though provoking book but instead Carrie Prejean's incoherent fragments of ideas are just a boring read.

I wasn't expecting much from this book and I was not disappointed. Although it is obvious from her interviews that Carrie does not have enough command of the English language to write a book, one would have thought her publisher would have hired a more eloquent ghost writer. This is the most self serving, blame it on everyone else tome I have ever read. A friend purchased this for me as a gag gift and I felt like gagging after reading it. Sorry Amazon, but wait till this ends up in the Dollar Store before purchasing it. It should be there in about 3 months.

I honestly wanted to give this book a try
However before I paid $15 for an ebook in Kindle (which I think is too much for any ebook) I ordered the "sample"
Boy am I glad I did. The writing and style was horrible. I felt like I was reading something from a high school essay.
Don't waste you money on this right now. Wait a month or so and Kindle will have it for 5.99 at most

Not a particularlly well written book. It really does feel like she walks into situations and then claims to be a victim. I think her 15 minutes are about up.

After reading a bit of this book and watching her on larry king, i have come to the conclusion that we as a society are attracted to really superficial fluff. All she is, is a beautiful face with absolutely no substance.

There is NOTHING christian about her.

A rather boring read, something you can pick up when u have absolutely nothing else to read.

Truly pathetic!

A 22-year-old kid who has coasted on her looks all her life tells us how we should live. I think the ghost writer did a decent job but the question is, why read it? Funny the way the reviews are split between dems and repubs. All political books are like this: reviews split between 5 and 1 stars. The book will be fascinating to those who like their fantasy women skinny, blond, siliconed and vacuous. Pitty the poor kid having to deal with revelations about her naughty onanistic videos. She doesn't realize that she's being used and will be discarded by the repubs as soon as she ceases to be of use.

Really?
This poor girl. She has been so abused by the imaginary liberal media.
She is just another hypocritical member of the American Taliban.
She wants us all to live by the "rules" of her imaginary friend. But she gives herself a pass as she breaks those rules.
This book is poorly written and will only be of interest to other religious fanatics. Im sure you will be able to get it for free from rightwing sites as you can Palins book.
