5.0 out of 5 stars incredible album, deals with issues that nobody else will
I first found out about Klank when I started trying to get all the related projects to Klay Scott(Circle of Dust, Celldweller, etc...) as he used to be Circle's guitarist. Little was I prepared for the incredible music he made on his own. Still Suffering showed that Darren had the ability to come out of Klay's massive shadow and make his own powerful music. 3.0 out of 5 stars Moderately Liked it
I thought that it was okay but there are some other bands that I think have better vocals and guitars. (e.x. Living Sacrifice, Blindside, Mortification { Not the Triumph of mercy }, Zao, Training for Utopia, Stretch Arm Strong, Spitfire, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars incredible album, deals with issues that nobody else will, March 22, 2001
This review is from: Still Suffering (Audio CD)
I first found out about Klank when I started trying to get all the related projects to Klay Scott(Circle of Dust, Celldweller, etc...) as he used to be Circle's guitarist. Little was I prepared for the incredible music he made on his own. Still Suffering showed that Darren had the ability to come out of Klay's massive shadow and make his own powerful music. Although on the surface, it may sound like typical industrial/death metal, it is far different than the product that most of today's artists put out. Klank deals with issues such as abuse by others, neglect, loneliness, and a deep desire for peace inside. He is striving to really find God, and his lyrics relect it in a deep and meaningful way. This cd is an emotional Journey. Klank addresses issues that every Christian deals with, but nobody wishes to face in today's shallow music industry. For this reason, his cd is worth buying even if you are not a fan of industrial music. With production credits going to Klay Scott(and with a bit of help from AP2 cohort Buka as well), the cd is excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Voice And Guitar, August 7, 2004
This review is from: Still Suffering (Audio CD)
Klank (formerly the guitarest for live shows for Circle Of Dust.) Has made a awesome debute with this album. This being his first CD he has combined machine-gun guitar with his low, but melodic voice. His words come pounding out of the song right in your face. Although this CD was put out on a Christian label, there is no "Jesus loves me this I know" stuff in here--Pure industrial-heavy metal at it's best. I have talked to kLank a couple times on AOL messenger a while ago and he sets his goals very high for his fans-and for himself. I LOVED this CD and I love the voice samples he has in his songs-some from Hellraiser and 12 Monkeys put together in a VERY artfull way. I also highly recommend his second album: NUMB. Another triumph by kLaNk. I also have the LP of this CD also put out by Tooth & Nail if you like this CD try looking for that too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to the Industrial Industry!, June 30, 2000
By
This review is from: Still Suffering (Audio CD)
This CD is very well one of the best Christian industrial albums of the decade. What are the most energetic songs? THERE ARE NONE! Klank brings out the rough side in every song. His vocals are among the most intimidating in the Christian industrial industry. He brings expresses all of the emotions that can be expressed in music; hate, love, confusion, etc. The songs that are my personal favorites are Downside, Animosity, Leave, and Woodensoul. Klank can't really be compared to anybody. Well, he used to be the guitarist for Circle of Dust, in their debut, self-titled project, so I guess Circle of Dust would be the best comparison. Another kind of similar comparison would be Paramaecium. Well, Klank has a great style that he plays and if you like industrial music, buy Klank / Still Suffering.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Magnificent, November 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Still Suffering (Audio CD)
Klank's "StillSuffering"was the first Christian cd I bought coming out of my Satanism. It really helped me, and for once I didn't feel like every Christian was ridiculing me. He really knew what he was talking about. Some people may not be able to handle the lyrics if they've lived a sheltered life. He explains all that at the beginning of the cover. He was magnificent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising, February 25, 2001

I wasn't too sure how much I would like this CD before I bought it. All I knew is that he had done guitar work w/Klayton from Circle of Dust. But when I bought it I was very pleased to discover that my money was well spent. This is one of my favorite CD's. I recently lost it, and am very upset about that fact. While waiting for it to arrive in the mail, I'm taking solace in their newer CD. :-) Rock on!

Dark sampling, hard techno beat, and chainsaw gutiar riffs make this cd excellent. This is a must buy for fans of Rammstein and Fear Factory. Be sure to check out "Downside"

5.0 out of 5 stars Not for most church gatherings!, February 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Still Suffering (Audio CD)
Although not a Christian, I try to keep up on what's new in heavy music. A buddy of mine pointed out this disc, and so I gave it a try. Man, I couldn't believe the sound! This guy pours nothing but emotion into this album - Pain, anger, joy, sadness, and it sounds great. Any Christian artist that can use samples from the "Hellraiser" movies is alright by me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Klank is one that brings meaning to life., January 11, 1998
By
This review is from: Still Suffering (Audio CD)
Klank, real name Darren, is one, who in all the bad press of Industrial music, has risen to become the epitome of Christian Industrial. Klank's songs bring meaning to life, and help people to get through those extremely tough times in life. His music does not promote suicide, premarital sex, drugs, or any of the other immoral ways of the world, but promotes relying on God for help. Through his music, you get to know the real Darren, a person who has been through many, many trying times, yet keeps going on in God's light and living the way a man should live. The music of Klank is music that will live on forever in the hearts of all those who will take the time and listen closely to it. END

4.0 out of 5 stars Great CD for venting, April 30, 2003
By
This review is from: Still Suffering (Audio CD)
There's a simple qualifying factor to liking this CD. Ask yourself, "have I ever been betrayed?" If yes, this CD is for you.
Darren, coming from Circle of Dust, doesn't surprise us with some strange new sound, but instead sticks to the industrial sound we love. Though similar, Klank definitly has a sound of their own. With harder guitars that drive the songs, to rougher vocals, Klank brings a message of survival through suffering.
Keep in mind this CD is not for everyone. Those living in the Christian mindset of, "life is peachy and we shouldn't dwell on anything bad," will definitly be put off by this album.
With that said, this CD is great. A must for any hardcore fan. Only frustrating thing about Klank is the spiritual vagueness as to what they believe. I mean, if you're a Christian, don't be ashamed to say it.
I'll continue to listen though. If anything, they make you think.
