Garfunkel proves his diverse artistic abilities in this wonderful collection of prose poems. Each poem has a small reference at the bottom of the page as to where Art was when he wrote it. A short collection but worth every penny. Paul Simon wrote some beautiful tunes with Art, and Art did Simon's lyrics justice with his heavenly voice. But this book shows that the literary abilities were not strictly confined to Simon. Highly worth owning.

If you've always loved Art Garfunkel and weren't sure why, you should seek out and read this book. 'Still Water' consists of 84 finely-crafted bits of writing covering Art's life and travels from 1983 to 1988, as well as interviews expanding on his philosophy and insights. After having read the poems, if you would like a little help in understanding them more fully, feel free to e-mail me. I'd love to discuss the book with anyone who is in tune with Mr. Garfunkel's rare sensitivity of spirit and mastery of language.

I'm a huge fan who wishes I hadn't read this "tmi" (too much information) autobiography from his confused lost depressed days as a co-dependent bisexual widower, though it unsurprisingly reveals Art's sensitive expressive depth & artistic talents I read somewhere he earned an award for prosetry idk if this book but I discarded it instead of passing it on. Maybe he's written since remarrying a good woman (like my hubby of same bday & great similarities) & blessed him w/ 2 sons.

I have all Art's works inc 'America' concert DVD at Ellis Island w/ his family; & we enjoyed seeing him recently on TV interviewed re his singing for a Philadelphia Phillies Baseball memorial for an icon who passed :) Thank you Kim for rescuing our nat'l treasure, and Art for your musical artistry ~ a gift from God :)
