The 4 Tops was the greatest group that Motown and Gordy Berry gave to the music word,IMHO. They were always overshadowed by the Temptations but, if you don't listen to the Tops it is your loss.
This album was never given the chops it deserved. The album was overshadowed by other products of Motown and the push Berry was giving to his diva, you know who.
The music and singing n this album are outstanding, The production is fantastic. I have this album on vinyl, 8 Track, Cassette, and CD so you might say I am prejudiced. But, once you hear "MacArthur Park, you will be hooked too, I believe.

One of the best albums ever recorded. I'd been searching for this for years after losing my vinyl album through moving. The renditions of "All In The Game" and "Reflections" and "Everybody's Talking" are superb. So iconic of the era.

Motown was certainly one of the premiere singles labels of the 60s when that was the key format. Besides The Supremes, few Motown acts sold albums commiserate with their huge single sales. The Temptations and The Four Tops were next in line with The Tops being graciously celebrated in international markets after "The Second Album".

Within the first few months of the new decade, The Tops hit cycle was revived with the hauntingly beautiful "Still Water" which went Top 10 Pop (#11) and R&B (#4). The same tilted album was certified Gold and went Top 20. The album was a song cycled concept album with well thought out originals and expertly considered covers like "Elusive Butterfly" and "Everybody's Talkin'". They banked a second hit with a classic cover of "It's All in the Game" another Top 10! Frank Wilson with important input from the group members rounded out the album with originals like "L.A. My Town" which influenced Frank Sinatra's Quincy Jones produced "L.A. Is a Lady" and The Miracles future concept album, "City of Angels".

The socially conscious album would have a tremendous influence on the next year's landmark "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye as Tops member, Obie Benson co- wrote both "Still Water" and "What's Going On".

Motown would soon follow with Diana Ross' celebrated platinum solo album debut, Stevie Wonder's first credited produced "Signed, Sealed and Delivered" along with The Temptations' "Psychedelic Shack" albums that all went Gold/Platinum. This would prove that Motown was now becoming a force in creating classic albums. 1971 would be even better.

All the products were great. was shy about buying used copies of a cd or dvd for normal reasons, but all is good. Had a small glitch on "still waters". But after cleaning it good and having a good cd player, problem solved.

One of the best albums by the Four Tops. One of my favorite albums that I never bought. So glad I was finally able to get it on CD. This is a must for any Four Tops fan collection.

I purchased this on vinyl when I was a kid in my early teens and had to buy a download so I could listen to it in my car. You can buy a greatest hits but this is true 4 Tops
