First off I want to say reviews never affect my purchases, and I am buying this. But ive noticed over the years, when a game don't have a review up a day before the release, its something wrong with the game.
Whats crazy about this game is, I read a lot about video games, I stay pretty well informed. I know nothing about this game and it comes out tomorrow. All I know is Silicon Knights. I hope its good SK needs a hit after 2Human.
I really don't hope I don't have a Brink moment today. Amped ready to play, Then coming to relize your playing a turd. On another note I was one of those people who enjoyed 2 human, I put in well over 100 hrs into it, and really wished they would make a sequel.
Not a review but a quick assessment of the first hour's gameplay:
Feels like one of those non-AAA games that are perfectly solid and dependable, the equivalent of a B Movie. No game-changer or radical new ideas, but no bugs or problems so far.
Not a terrible game. Not special or unique either. It's an inoffensive game so far, decent controls, decent map, decently balanced and paced. No problems with camera getting awkward. It doesn't feel awkward or wrong in the way it plays, which is a good thing.
I agree, 5/10 is pretty low. It was *not* a bad game by any means. It was a decent (not good) stand-alone game. Would I recommend somebody paying $60 for it? Definitely not. Would I recommend somebody pick it up once the price drops? Definitely would. Its a relatively fun, simple game with a few things to do here and there. That's it. I'd give it a 6.5/10.
I knew they would get harsh reviews, because reviewers are not fond of SK. Remember all the stuff that went on during Too Human's release. for me this game is a solid 8. I really like this game, it will be a great change of pace game while im playing Gears 3, and Rage.
