We have friends who have the 1960s version of this game. I have been searching vintage game stores, thrift and 2nd hand shops for years trying to find it. I was THRILLED to find the remake is now available. It is a great game to play when friends come over and it is now expected that I bring it to every family gathering. GREAT FUN!5IVE STRAIGHT - THE PEGBOARD STRATEGY GAME

This game is extremely fun for the whole family! The rules are simple, so it's quick to learn, even for young kids. Since up to 9 can play, it's great for a crowd. So glad it's back on the market!

I tend to like games that have more skill then luck. I would put this game at about 50/50 or 60/40 in favor of planning and skill. You can play it mostly by luck (draw of the cards) like my 10 and 14 year old sisters like to play or you can get an older skill set and turn it into a game of strategy with enough randomness in the cards to balance out people who are not good at planing 2-4 moves ahead. I like the game because we can play as a family and my strategy can be thwarted by my younger siblings playing their cards to block me.

This game always goes with us on vacations as we can play it for hours. We love the strategy aspect to it, and our adult kids love to see if they can beat us (they can't). If chess can be a little ponderous for you, but you like a good strategy game, you will like this.
Our granddaughter (age 8) is starting to pick it up and can play a reasonable game with us too. We have given this game as gifts for Christmas and as 'thank you' gifts, and it is always appreciated.

I purchased this as a replacement for the old "Game of 99" which is now almost impossible to find. Very similar, though I like the board and cards better in the older game. Great game to play with kids and even adults. Would be nice if the cards were made a little better or where large enough to use in an automatic card shuffler to help protect them.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for one of my nephews. It looks a lot like Battleship, but instead of using 3 or 4 pegs to "sink" an opponent, this game used 5 pegs. Although I have not played it, it looks like a fun game. Maybe one of these days, my nephew will play it with me. :)

This is the only game I still play. It is easy to learn (just get five in a row), but never boring, no matter how good you get at it. You can have two, three, or four players. Like all good games, it requires planning, strategy, and luck. Sometimes we stay up late playing this.
