This is such a Wonderful Book!, March 21, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: In Stillness Conquer Fear: Overcoming Anxiety, Panic, and Agoraphobia (Paperback)
The author Pauline McKinnon overcame agoraphobia and panic disorder using a unique form of meditation which she calls stillness meditation. She was housebound with agoraphobia and became completely cured using meditation. In the book she describes her whole journey. From her first panic attack to becoming completely well. She also describes, in great detail, how to do stillness meditation and how long it will take to get well. Pauline McKinnon is also a psychotherapist. Another interesting note (not in the book): I have read that the actress Olivia Hussey (Romeo and Juliet) used and uses meditation to keep her agoraphobia in check.

Meditation really helps, November 3, 2005
This review is from: In Stillness Conquer Fear: Overcoming Anxiety, Panic, and Agoraphobia (Paperback)
I've read quite a few books on panic attacks and anxiety. I found this book to be really helpful. It tells us that sometimes doctors, psychiatrists, and drugs are not enough to help us combat this disorder. Sometimes we just need to meditate and something happens inside of us that stills our minds and bodies, something that all the logic in the world cannot do. I am still meditating to this day and it works.

This review is from: In Stillness Conquer Fear: Overcoming Anxiety, Panic, and Agoraphobia (Paperback)
Pauline's book is extremely helpful. She tells her story in a warm and compassionate manner. You realize there are other people going through the same things. I have MANY books on anxiety--hers is a favourite.
