I was curious about what Stillroom was -- I had never heard the word before. The book is a good read for us who love to find out the old ways of doing things. Many of the methods remind me of my mother and grandmother's days of no electricity and how they managed. I may never have to use the methods but the book is a good one to curl up and read on a cold winter night.

For the cook who likes to figure out how things are done 'right' without having to buy so many ingredients to make it or using so many additives, this book is for you. This is the old fashioned way of making preserves, tisanes, meat curing, cheese and dairy procedures, etc., etc. After reading this, you will want to have a Stillroom of your own. For those who believe in being 'green', one of the best ways to start would be to follow this book.

Excellent book for learning how to preserve foods the old way without chemicals and harmful preservatives. One of the many steps to help prevent cancer, heart disease, diabetas, artherites, and many other killers.
