From Library Journal
This two-in-one special edition is performed by Carol Higgins Clark, the author's daughter. Because she is familiar with her mother's novels, this abridged audio recording works very well. Carol delivers the excitement of each plot and carries off the characters, too. Stillwatch introduces an ambitious TV anchorwoman, returning to Washington, DC, to interview the female politician who may just end up as the vice president-elect. Her return to her old homestead stirs up a multitude of tragic memories and the intimate connection these two women share. A Cry in the Night has all the emotion of a single mother with two young daughters finding "Mr. Right." Jenny McPartland meets an up-and-coming painter, Erich Krueger, in the New York art gallery where she works, and it is love at first sight. In a whirlwind romance Jenny marries the budding artistic genius, and they return to Big Sky country as one happy family. The problem is Erich is very possessive and tries to drive Jenny insane, only to keep her daughters, whom he loves. This is the tape that's worth the price. Recommended for libraries where Clark (All Through the Night) circulates.AKristin M. Jacobi, Eastern Connecticut State Univ., Willimantic
