This is the first book I've read by Mr. Cash. It won't be the last. I enjoyed the book and was impressed with the manner in which the author built the suspense throughout the story. His descriptions of paranormal activities were believable, and not overdone. I found myself becoming involved with the characters and relating to their thoughts, feelings and personal dilemmas. I thought I had the end figured out, but was wrong, and was therefore delighted with the way the author pulled in all the loose ends. Although Stillwell is the suspenseful story of a haunting, it is also a well-written love story. For readers who are looking for an entertaining, and somewhat thought provoking novel, particularly if you enjoy anything paranormal, I recommend Stillwell, without reservation.

This is the second novel I have read by new author, Micheal Phillip Cash..His writing is excellent, he's capable of drawing in and keeping you captivated for hours..This is a haunting, very emotional love story..It's more psychological/mystery then supernatural..There are two stories going on that seamlessly flow into one by the end...One part deals with severe pain, grief, coping, the loss of a loved one and the aftermath of "death" itself...The other part deals with, if you believe in ghosts or trapped, tortured souls that can't cross over until a wrong is made right..The author gives you perfect depiction of what it's like to deal with both sides..Present and past..You could feel the character's emotions spilling from the pages..If anyone has gone through this before, it's heartbreaking and made me cry at times....

Paul Russo has just spent a year with his wife Allison, watching her decline and suffer through many treatments for a brain tumor..It was hopeless and no longer in their hands..Now he is lost and his soul is torn apart..He doesn't know how to pick up the pieces, take care of three adorable children or even want to carry on with his own life...He not sleeping, eating and having hallucinations..The children and he are now having terrifying nightmares about an evil demons..They still feel the presence of their mother around them...
He decides the only thing to do is to go back to work as a realtor..He will be asked by two close friends to sell their family home the "Stillwell Manor"..It is over 200 yrs old, said to be haunted and has been the site of two horrific tradedies..That's when Paul's troubles start to increase...

Will Paul figure out the mysterious link to "Stillwell Manor", that keeps pulling him back and won't let him go until all is revealed in the end....
This is the "Haunting" realities of life....

At first I thought I would not like this book. It starts out taking us into the lives of a family who has just lost the mother. We travel along as the dad, Paul, shares his memories, his grief and his concern for his children, but than there is a turn. Paul begins to have night terrors, as does one of his children. It seems there is some 'other world' connections with the family that is touching them all, even spreading into his work as a Realtor. One house is drawing him as he feels the answer to what is happening can be fond there. The suspense builds as you are pulled into the paranormal of his life, the secrets that are revealed, and the surprising outcome. It's quite a ride, with a very good ending.

I enjoyed this read once I got into it. I loved the locals and the way the author described them giving you a mind's eye picture of where you were. The characters were also well done and the description of them definitely brought them to life. It was quick paced, taking you from one event to another, building up the suspense and leaving you wondering, wanting to know. The story had sorrow for sure, but it was packed with suspense, mystery, paranormal events and a satisfying ending. I recommend this read, I believe you will enjoy it.

This is the second Michael Phillip Cash book that I read and like the first, Brood X, I enjoyed it. Cash has great writing skills. He is able to draw us into his drama with suspense, a finely drawn and deep characterization of the people in his novel, and the insertion of subtle psychological assessments on relationships. One might think that this book and the last one are scary, but they are not. This is essentially a love story. It is about Paul, who has just lost his wife to cancer; she had been sick for months. While he had been a successful salesman, he took off time to care for his dying wife, and is now devastated over his loss, almost broke and about to lose his job. His children tell him that they see their dead mom. Beside this "haunting," Paul must sell a very valuable property to regain his financial status and save his job. But there was a murder and suicide in this house, and people say it is "haunted." This is an easy to read book that holds readers' interest.

Michael Phillip Cash has a rich imagination, a gift that comes from being grounded and secure with life as being lived. That he is able from that strong stance to create stories such as STILLWELL embellishes his evident gifts as a writer. In his debut novel BROOD X he was able to create a terrifying tale out of things seen or magnify things seen to become ghastly distortions of credible possibilities. In his current exceptionally well-crafted novel he takes a step further in the arena of ghosts, and if the reader wants current thought on the subject, the following is an encyclopedic comment: `Ghosts have been a popular subject for millennia, appearing in countless stories, from "Macbeth" to the Bible, and even spawning their own folklore genre: ghost stories. Ghosts are perhaps the most common paranormal belief in the world. Part of the reason is that belief in ghosts is part of a larger web of related paranormal beliefs, including near-death experience, life after death, and spirit communication. The idea that the dead remain with us in spirit is an ancient one, and one that offers many people comfort; who doesn't want to believe that our beloved but deceased family members aren't looking out for us, or with us in our times of need? Most people believe in ghosts because of personal experience; they have seen or sensed some unexplained presence.'

Step into the Russo family. Paul Russo and his children, the twins Jesse and Veronica and their much younger sister Stella, are attempting to recover from the rather abrupt yet smoldering death of Allison, the wife and mother.
