Since 1985, Sting has released 13 solo albums. His latest musical endeavor, The Last Ship, is inspired by a forthcoming play of the same name that will debut on Broadway in 2014, and explores the central themes of homecoming and self-discovery, drawing upon his memories of growing up in the shadow of the Swan Hunters Shipyard in Wallsend. The album will be released September 24, 2013 on Cherrytree/Interscope/A&M Records.

Sting recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of his enduring solo career. To commemorate that milestone, the definitive box set 25 Years was released, along with the free iPad app Sting 25, which was awarded the prestigious Cannes Lion for Best Design/Aesthetic at the International Festival of Creativity and features exclusive all-star performances from his 60th birthday benefit concert, plus rare interviews, photos, music videos, and more.

Sting has sold nearly 100 million albums from his combined work with the Police and as a solo artist. He has earned an additional 10 Grammy awards, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, and three Oscar nominations, appeared in more than 15 films and authored two books including the New York Times best-selling memoir, Broken Music.

His support for human rights organizations such as the Rainforest Fund, co-founded with his wife Trudie Styler in 1989, mirrors his art in its universal outreach.

After several years of work, Sting completed his musical The Last Ship in 2013. Initially, he introduced the piece as a solo album released in September of 2013, but the musical -- set in a struggling shipyard in the 1980s -- was scheduled to make its Broadway debut in 2014.
