5.0 out of 5 stars a great band with a different sound, June 28, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Stipplicon (Audio CD)
This is a very cool album . For the most part this album is fairly mellow with a few exceptions such as 92 years and practical tactics. The thing that i love most about this album is the lyrics. There is not one song on the album about a girl. Instead the members of the band chooses to write songs about computers taking over the world and other strange song topics. It's a shame these guys and band like them are not more prominant in popular music. If you like alterative music and want to listen to a band that are musicly talentented and creative i would definently suggest that you order this.

5.0 out of 5 stars yes, this is the stipplicon you've been looking for!, January 13, 2003

If you have heard this album before you are probably buying it now. If you haven't...well it is something you must listen to once in your life. These people put on a great show, I only wish there were a live album. I can't say if this band is still going, but this CD is the supreme testament to their profound musical sensibilities. It may be their only recording so get this while you can. One of my favorite tracks is LIFE SIZE.
Lyrics, Guitars, AND Rhythm all extremely well done. Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stipplicon Rocks!, October 20, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Stipplicon (Audio CD)
This album is the first release from Stipplicon, a semi-underground band from NYC. While two members of this band, are also members of the more well-known Moldy Peaches, I wouldn't buy this album simply because you are a fan of the Moldy Peaches. The only similiarity is the clever, artistic, lyrics that appear in both band's songs. If you are looking for something that, well, rocks, I'd highly recommend this album. From the first time I saw Stipplicon live, I was drawn to their high-energy, catchy, pure rock and roll music. Particularly good tracks include Pile of Rocks, Computers and Brains, and Practical Tactics.

**Just a note, if you like this album, Stipplicon does have a sophomore release, The Late Great Truth. Unfortunately Amazon.com doesn't carry it but if you find that album, I'd highly recommend it as well!!**
