Crafted from oiled shorea, a dense mahogany-like Asian hardwood, the planter withstands the elements and resists rot. It’s large enough to hold a 50-foot hose (not included), which stows in the bottom section and is controlled by a simple side crank. Excellent for flowering plants or trailing vines, the planter section comes with a removable slatted base. Though sturdy in position, the top half lifts off easily if you need to access the reel. Altogether, the unit stands 12-1/4 by 16-1/2 by 26 inches. Left untreated, it will weather naturally to a silvery gray; to maintain the original finish, simply apply tung or linseed oil.
