3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty cool overall, January 13, 2007
This review is from: Stitch 'N Bitch 2007 Page-A-Day Calendar: The Knitter's Calendar (Calendar)
This calendar is ok overall and I like having it around.

Mondays you get a "bio" on a type of yarn that includes the fiber type and a person's review of it. Very nice.

Tuesdays are Tips which, so far, have been very useful.

Wednesdays are "web sightings" which are generally cool/interesting.

Thursdays are knitting facts such as, did you know there was a patron saint for knitting in Paris in the 1500s?

Fridays are a pattern. So far I haven't been too impressed by those but others may like them just fine.

The weekend is a wash though. Just a quote, that doesn't have anything necessarily to do with knitting. For example, January 13-14th is "Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience." by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Kind of a drag to have to look at that for two days. Maybe the knitting pattern should have been on the weekend.

Anyway, still one of the more interesting (something)-a-day calenders I've owned and overall very entertaining.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love the Variety!, April 16, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Stitch 'N Bitch 2007 Page-A-Day Calendar: The Knitter's Calendar (Calendar)
I purchased both this calendar and the pattern-a-day calendar, and this one is definitely my favorite. The calendar holder itself is rinky dink, and it would help if there was a better way to save the pages rather than a clumsy binder clip. Some of the tips aren't the greatest, but the quotes are inspiring, and what knitter doesn't like to learn about new yarns? I have bookmarked almost every website mentioned as well. I also like the patterns in this calendar better than the pattern a day, and there is only about one pattern a week! If you are a fan of the Stitch'n Bitch book, you will certainly like the calendar.

2.0 out of 5 stars For Fans Only, January 29, 2007
This review is from: Stitch 'N Bitch 2007 Page-A-Day Calendar: The Knitter's Calendar (Calendar)
If you're at all experienced as a knitter or you're not a devoted fan of all things Stitch 'n' Bitch, you probably won't find much of value in this calendar. Most of the patterns are ordinary at best, and in between there's a lot of filler. The "fave fiber" recommendations are okay, and a few of the recommended Websites are good to know about, but the rest (quotes and tips) are generally either very basic or just irrelevant. I received this as a gift, and I wish I had exchanged it for the Knitting Pattern a Day calendar, which is uneven but still much more worthwhile than this one.
