Pretty cool overall,

This calendar is ok overall and I like having it around.
Mondays you get a "bio" on a type of yarn that includes the fiber type and a person's review of it. Very nice. Tuesdays are Tips which, so far, have been very useful. Wednesdays are "web sightings" which are generally cool/interesting. Thursdays are knitting facts such as, did you know there was a patron saint for knitting in Paris in the 1500s? Fridays are a pattern. So far I haven't been too impressed by those but others may like them just fine. The weekend is a wash though. Just a quote, that doesn't have anything necessarily to do with knitting. For example, January 13-14th is "Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience." by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Kind of a drag to have to look at that for two days. Maybe the knitting pattern should have been on the weekend. Anyway, still one of the more interesting (something)-a-day calenders I've owned and overall very entertaining.

I purchased both this calendar and the pattern-a-day calendar, and this one is definitely my favorite. The calendar holder itself is rinky dink, and it would help if there was a better way to save the pages rather than a clumsy binder clip. Some of the tips aren't the greatest, but the quotes are inspiring, and what knitter doesn't like to learn about new yarns? I have bookmarked almost every website mentioned as well. I also like the patterns in this calendar better than the pattern a day, and there is only about one pattern a week! If you are a fan of the Stitch'n Bitch book, you will certainly like the calendar.

For Fans Only,
This review is from: Stitch 'N Bitch 2007 Page-A-Day Calendar: The Knitter's Calendar (Calendar)
If you're at all experienced as a knitter or you're not a devoted fan of all things Stitch 'n' Bitch, you probably won't find much of value in this calendar. Most of the patterns are ordinary at best, and in between there's a lot of filler. The "fave fiber" recommendations are okay, and a few of the recommended Websites are good to know about, but the rest (quotes and tips) are generally either very basic or just irrelevant. I received this as a gift, and I wish I had exchanged it for the Knitting Pattern a Day calendar, which is uneven but still much more worthwhile than this one.

Got this one for a co-worker, and have found I enjoy it almost as much as she does! Every day is another tidbit of information, and she tends to read them to me. I find myself looking forward to it. Some are historical tidbits, some days are awesome websites to go investigate, and some are yarn recommendations/or projects. This was one of the best gifts I gave this year, and it will last all year!

I received this as a holiday gift and I cannot wait to start using it. The calendar is full color and looks fantastic! I flipped through the pages and the calendar is filled with so many cute ideas and great tips. I highly recommend it!

a bit dissappointed,
This review is from: Stitch 'N Bitch 2007 Page-A-Day Calendar: The Knitter's Calendar (Calendar)
Given my love for Stitch 'n Bitch books, I expected a bit more from the calendar. I'd hoped for more patterns, and these specific patterns were ... well, not quite up to my expectations. I guess I should have read it more carefully before buying, as I didn't realize that this did not contain ALL patterns, but rather various categories for various days. If 2008 is no better, I wouldn't recommend it.

Wow! Where do I start?
I LOVE everything about this addition to Debbie Stoller's growing list of S & B `Knit On' offerings. I received this `chock-full of knit fun' calender as a gift and once again, as is often the case, good things DO come in small packages. This wonderful page-a-day is so much more than just a calender for tracking the days through 2007. Debbie, along with the creative team who worked on this project, have ingeniously included not only: tips, knit techniques, `yarn of the week' pics and knitty hahaha's galore; but the best part of all: a Friday weekend knit project- with complete instructions, appropriately chosen for that particular week of the year! Just tear out, head to your LYS or personal stash and get ready for weekend knit-time fun! And the 52 patterns, WOOOOOOW again! Don't expect just the usual weekend `quickie' projects like scarves, hats and dishcloths. How about a gorgeous shrug: See, Suzie Hug Me Tight- April 27th, Beautiful Shawls: Easy Triangle Shawl-May 11th, Skirts Anyone? Market Skirt- November 9th, how about a Stainless Steel Shell (you read that right?) just in time for NY's Eve. Remember lurex LOL, this is a stainless steel thread, spun with a luxury yarn, from what I can see. Interesting (and beautiful) indeed!!!! I am planning to get a pocket-type photo album to keep all my fav. patterns from this calender for future use and there will be MORE than 1/2 of the 52 patterns being included as `keepers'. That's a pretty impressive percentage, don't you agree? If I pick out 3-4 patterns in regular knit/crochet books, I think I've made a good choice. Do not miss this one, for yourself or as a great gift. Here's hoping there is a crochet version on the way too.

Needs more patterns, less 'filler',

This calendar doesn't have enough knitting patterns. There's way too much 'filler'--the quotes are particularly useless. I'm also not interested in knitbit trivia about knitting (In what universe does anyone care about the year in which the first purl stitch was done?). The Monday 'fave fiber' pages are product placement advertising. The calendar does include a few interesting websites and a few helpful knitting tips. But overall, they've wasted much of the 365 days with filler (ridiculously obvious June 26th tip: photograph your knitted projects when finished.) If they replaced the quotes, knitbits and fave fiber pages with actual patterns, then I would buy this calendar again. As is, I would say go for the Pattern-a-Day calendar instead.

I was pleasantly surprised. This calendar contains lots and lots of valuable information. It's a mix of yarn info, patterns, websites, and cool quotes. I don't like the Stitch and B#$%^ books, but this calendar is worth the price.

I wish I had read another reviewer's comments because this calendar was not at all what I had expected. I was hoping for some interesting, fashion-forward patterns and was sorely disappointed; the patterns are not very exciting and there are not many. Patterns are only offered one day out of the week with the other days having "inspirational quotes", web site suggestions, history bits about knitting and other people's favorite yarns. If you are looking for a calendar with lots of patterns I would suggest looking into another calendar, Knitting-Pattern-a-Day, which is full of patterns. If I had flipped through this before I purchased it I wouldn't have bought it.
