Book Description

Mamas, grandmas, aunts - now you can make a special quilt for that treasured little one in your life. Professional designer Vicki Thomas has created 11 charming quilts for your favorite kids. Several are interactive. They contain flaps, closed with button or bows, that conceal secret pictures and messages and provide hours of fun and entertainment. Vicki says she created these designs from her observations of things children find fascinating, such as airplanes, butterflies, hot-air balloons, tepees, kites, tea parties, and paper dolls. The patterns range from simple for the beginning quilter to challenging for the accomplished sewer. The easy quilts are so marked, and the complete step-by-step directions and illustrations are easy to follow.

Review

Reviewer Eileen Godfrey, from Simi Valley, CA said, "My two grandsons, who are members of Y-Indian Guides, asked me if I would make them 'Indian' quilts. Well, being somewhat new to quilting, and not having much of an imagination, I went on a book and pattern search. When I came across this book and found a Teepee quilt in it, I was thrilled. The book is filled with terrific quilt ideas for children. Ms. Thomas's instructions are very clear and concise, and made the experience....painless."

4.0 out of 5 stars Stitch A Child's Quilt, December 30, 2000

This review is from: Stitch A Child's Quilt (Paperback)
My two grandsons, who are members of Y-Indian Guides, asked me if I would make them "Indian" quilts. Well, being somewhat new to quilting, and not having much of an imagination, I went on a book and pattern search. When I came across this book and found a Teepee quilt in it, I was thrilled. The book is filled with terrific quilt ideas for children. Ms. Thomas's instructions are very clear and concise, and made the experience relatively painless. The results were two beautiful quilts that the boys absolutely loved! I can't wait to get started on some of her other great quilting ideas in the book. If you are a quilter with children or grandchildren, the addition of this book to your quilting library is a must.
