I bought this at my lYS and i have to say that iam pleasantly surprised w/ it.For such a small book,I was surprised by how many of the patterns i liked.Usually im happy if i walk away liking even a few.To answer someones question, this book does use some charts mostly for color work.other than that it is mainly written instructions.there are 30 plus color photos in this book which are nice to use as a reference.I would recommend this to anyone wanting a mitten book w/ pretty patterns.very eclectic collection.Your not getting stuck with a book full of the same pattern with slight variations. They are all quite unique from one to the next. And amazons price is good.$13 new or last i checked there was new/used starting at $10 and im sure over time that will go down more as opposed to the list price of $17.Good book.If you enjoy making mittens then it's Worth the money:)

This book is great...there is alot of interest in mittens and gloves this year and this book covers that well. I recommend this book for anyone wanting to give mittens and gloves a try...even the beginner knitter.

These are some inspiring mittens! Everyone probably knows by now that I have a fetish for mittens. Well this book makes my fingers itch. I love them and cannot wait to make them all.
There are very good color photos, good instructions, and variations for many of the patterns. In the back there are basic instructions, although I would not recommend this book to beginners who do not already have a good knitting foundation. Mittens are easy, but not for a first-time project. My only complaint is that some of the photos are very artistic and show off the mittens/gloves pretty well, but I can't see the whole mitten. That gets a little annoying... but it's not really that big of a deal and I've had no problem envisioning the finished product. Recommendation: Intermediate/Advanced knitters **review copy provided by the publisher** |
