John Mayer is the guy who helped write the music, and wrote the words to the song!,

One of my favorite John Mayer songs....and all praise to the great Herbie Hancock for requesting the collaboration (at least according to the "making of" documentary he did). He has been around a long time, and knows talent when he sees it :)I love the melody, John's vocal quality is just right, the whimsical lyrics are fun, and I love the groove....no way you can sit still! (By the way, thank you Steve Jordan) This work is just another demonstration of John's developing musical genius and versatility. He continues to astonish, and it is so obvious he really, really, cares about his craft. I look forward to following his career over the decades, and being surprised and delighted over what he creates. Incidentally (for those Herbie fans who may not know John's work), the title of the song is John's (courtesy of a conversation with a friend).

I've been a fan of Herbie Hancock since I was a kid. He easily could have settled into a life of 1950's jazz standards, but has consitantly demonstrated that he is willing to take risks by re-inventing his sound. Sometimes this is magical (try Headhunters) sometimes tragic (try Future shock). This new collaboration with Pop Music's Frat boy, John Mayer, is more like the former. Strong work Herbie!
