5.0 out of 5 stars I havent read an investing book this good in a long time.
This book was easy to read and it really flowed well. This book changed my investing approach forever because it has me better prepared before I enter a trade. I can anticipate what a stock is going to do before it does it. I hope Mr. Hooper writes another book on trading in the stock market. I have read this book two times already.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just plain bad
First, the name of the book is misleading. Event driven trading is about selecting stocks that will or have experienced an 'event' that drives the stock higher or lower. The entirety of this book is just a summary/rehash of several other stock picking books based on technical factors and analysis.

That said, the only reason I would recommend this book is for...

5.0 out of 5 stars This book will change your trading style forever, December 31, 2003
This review is from: Stock Market Trading: The Event Driven Method (Paperback)
I highly recommend this book to anyone that is trading stocks or considering trading stocks.
This book describes a whole new way to trade stocks. It shows you how and when to buy, hold, and sell stocks buy letting the stock its self tell you what to do.

I really like the concept of using events that are in each stock and the market as your guide. I found the event concept so easy I don't know why I did not think of it my self. I also found the chapter on market psychology very interesting.

That said, the only reason I would recommend this book is for someone who has had no previous exposure to the markets.

Good thing I only borrowed this book from the library!

5.0 out of 5 stars We have a "WINNER HERE", July 5, 2006

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is top notch.

I have traded stocks for the last several years and done OK. But after reading this book about six months ago, I have enhanced my trading style and done much better in the stock market. This book helped me look at the market and stocks in a different way. I must say that I was a little hesitant using the trading log that is laid out in this book, but now I can see the benefit in it.

Now that I can spot events in a stock chart, I can actually start predicting the direction a stock is going to go. I believe that with time, I will get much better at this and improve my trading even more.

For the first time in my life I have a way to make extra money after I retire without working part time.

I have to recommend this book to anyone that wants to learn how to trade or improve their trading in the stock market.

I like the concept of using events to help you read stock charts.
