This review is from: Stock Car Race Fan's Reference Guide: Understanding Nascar (Paperback)
This book is very informative. After reading the first Three Chapters, you can almost gather the right materials and build your own stock car. I like how it gets into the setup and the constant work that happens to not only get the car to the track, but keep in on the track. After reading this, you tend to think that the movie, Days of Thunder, was nothing more then a love story. It was interesting to learn in this book how much the littlest thing can affect a stock car; Did you know that tire pressure can be the difference in getting around the corner or becoming a part of the wall? It's in the book. Also gives you a different perspective on how the driver feels and the conditions he is under when the car gets crunched and he continues on. I have a new respect for those guys. Also after reading this book, I can now understand the heartbreak and anxiety some of these teams feel, when their cars get "bumped" and "rubbed" while in the race. This book is good for those who want to learn about NASCAR Winston Cup Cars, and for those "know it all experts" that really should read this book. Also it has a lot of photos of almost every team, and Big "E"'s number 3 is in there alot, heck I ought to give it another star just for that. Last thing, for any of you highly detailed model builders looking for some good detail on NASCAR cup cars, this is your book.
