Very Underrated,

This is one of the best recordings ever and noone's even heard of it! Blimey. This I think is one of the last recordings before he semi-retired. He does the most creative and foreward thinking, thematic solos which gives a glimpes into his next period. Checkout oleo if you want to be blown away. Sonny is the greatest

astonishing,

I'm a great jazz fan. I completely agree with Mary Farrar. After having read an italian book about Sonny and Mary's review I bought this cd. It's astonishing. It's also very amusing. Comparing it with soccer or basketball it's like seeing Maradona or Pele or Jordan playing. It gives you a sensation of nearly omnipotence. Most of the takes are also well recorded. I recommend particularly, besides "Oleo", "There will never be another you", the first "Paul's pal", "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing" (even if this last one is not as well recorded as the others").
