I tried warming it in my hand, but it's still super hard to make simple shapes quickly. Suitable for older kids and not toddlers with short attention span.

I bought a set of this several years ago, and we still enjoy using it over and over! Our whole family has fun with this. It feels so good in the hands that it's hard to describe. The wax is very firm and must be warmed in the hands (or in warm water etc) before it is molded. Part of the fun is warming it up in the hands. Then it becomes a smooth, moldable building tool or can just be played with for the sensory experience. We keep the wax in a little flip top container to keep it clean and ready for next time. You can keep it in the box it came in, a bag, or even out in the open air or tuck some in your bag for when you are on the go and need to keep hands busy. It lasts and lasts! We bought the Stockmar wax, crayons, block crayons and paint years ago and are still enjoying them. Look around for the best price, and know you are getting something that will last. I must add that the wax and beeswax crayons smell delish!
