5.0 out of 5 stars Teach Timer Terrific
This one was a gift, but I have used it in the past. It works great but just don't keep the overhead on if you are not using the Teach Timer- it can burn out the screen on the timer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great while it lasted
The TeachTimer is a great clock/timer that I used for everything from timing standardized tests to timing student presentations. However, after only 2 years of use, the display lost lines in its digital numbers. I replaced the battery, but to no avail. I guess I'll have to buy a replacement, but I thought it would last a lot longer than it did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love my Teach Timer!, August 31, 2008
This review is from: Stokes Publishing TeachTimer (Toy)
I love my Teach Timer. It helps students manage their own time during tasks or projects, reminds us when to rotate learning centers, counts down or up for timed tests, speeches, etc. The beeper that goes off is not too soft or too loud and it saves my voice when it is time to transition to another activity. My students and I have used my timer for 3 years, always with the protective card underneath. I have stored it in the case when not in use. It still works perfectly.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor advertisement, September 19, 2011
The product I received does not look like the picture shown. The one I received is the older model and not the TI as pictued in the promotion. The new one has a stand to help show the time on the screen. The older model does not have the stand and is not the TI edition. I have ordered this product from another company and the same problem happened. At this point I decided to keep the one I received since it is already the beginning of the school year and it is needed. The screen only lasts for two years. When a new battery is placed inside, the screen still does not display the numbers completely. This has happened with two other ones I have had. Unfortunately, this product works the best for the classroom so I just buy a new one every two years.

You might assume that in this age of digital projectors, etc., that a funky old LCD for OHP is an anachronism. But it's not.

You don't really want to dedicate a computer and burn hours off an LCD projector bulb showing time-related displays. The TeachTimer makes for a nice countdown display during labs and tests and keeps other projection resources free for other use (or at rest).

The unit's display is sensitive to heat, though, and OHPs are heaters. The flip feet in the product image would be great, but they don't actually come with the product.

This thing is pricey but really handy. It's great for the incredible number of standardized tests we have to give. Throw it on the overhead and project it as a timer. Also great for timing group work, etc. I use this and one of those big Time Timers. I also use a small kitchen timer for time on task evals etc. Nice and durable. Only drawback is price.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!, December 10, 2007
I LOVE this item! I have been teaching for 6 years and this REALLY helps keep my students on track when I need them to! You can use it with or without an overhead, but it's GREAET sitting on the overhead and the whole class can see it quickly and easily! LOVE IT!
