5.0 out of 5 stars Best Zeat you can ever buy!
We bought the Stokke when we still lived in the Netherlands and we started using it as soon as our son was about six months old. In Europe they sell a infant-kit with the Stokke, sadly you can not buy one here and our hope is that they will start doing that really soon because we have eight month old twins and it puts us for a real big dillema for what to do without a...

2.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, but BEWARE!
Bought this chair over a year ago. Thought it was the most attractive highchair on the market. And "Wow! She'll use it for years! Maybe she'll even use it as her desk chair when she's studying in college!" Loved it up until this morning, when we had to call 911 after she pushed herself over backward (and was semi-unresponsive) in the chair. If you have hardwood floors, it...

If you have hardwood floors, it works just fine...it slides back easily. We just moved to a house with rough stone floors and it does not slide at all (even after putting flet "sliders" underneath), therefore it tips backward with little effort. I hope you take this into consideration if you have stone or carpeted floors. Now I'll be looking for a chair with a tray.

In Europe they sell a infant-kit with the Stokke, sadly you can not buy one here and our hope is that they will start doing that really soon because we have eight month old twins and it puts us for a real big dillema for what to do without a stokke for them. But we have been using the Stokke KinderZeat for over 2 years now and I cannot say anything negative about it. Our son just loves his chair, he has always been part of our meals. He used it for crafts, playtime, just name it and it has been used for. It is truly worth every penny you put in it and to be honest I even like sitting on it!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars 25 years old and STILL a great chair!, January 22, 2004

My brother, who is now 26 years old, has one of these that he had from the time he was a wee one. It is the best chair that we've ever owned... much better than some plastic booster seat to put on a regular chair. Plus, since this is fully adjustable, we are still able to use it today ...for adults!

My husband and I will be buying one for our son in a few months, and I'm thrilled about the prospect of having one at our house!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Idea! Great Chair!, November 29, 2004
This review is from: Stokke Natural Tripp Trapp Chair (Baby Product)
I just purchased two of these chairs after seeing them online and reading the great reviews. I think they are a great idea. My older daughter is 4 and my younger is 18 months and this seat works great for both. I bought the seat cushions to go with them as well. I use the waist buckle with my younger daughter and it holds her in fine. It's the same type as the one in the plastic seat we were using. Now she can sit up at the table with the rest of the family. She liked it so much I could hardly get it put together before she was trying to climb up and sit on it. My older daughter likes hers as well. It's better than the soft booster seat we were using that would slide all around in the chair. I like the fact that it is easily adjustable to the right size. We should be able to use it for many years - even after the kids are grown since it holds up to 300 pounds. My husband thought it was a little pricey but personally I don't mind spending the money if I feel it is a worthwhile purchase which is how I feel about this chair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best High Chair Ever, June 18, 2007
This review is from: Stokke Natural Tripp Trapp Chair (Baby Product)
I purchased one of these in 1979 for my first born. All my children used it and to this day I still own it and use it as an extra chair at the table for guest. When they state "that it grows with your child", they are right on the money. I have given these as gifts to other parents and they too have loved them. You money is very well spent on this product. Worth every penny.

1.0 out of 5 stars the worst purchase we've made since becoming parents, May 22, 2008
This review is from: Stokke Natural Tripp Trapp Chair (Baby Product)
i just want to begin by saying that i'm a bleeding heart liberal with solar panels and homeschool tendencies - i LOVE the idea of the tripp trapp. but my experience has been much different. believe me, i tried very hard to like this chair.

we bought this high chair against all advice from our parents (no tray??), spouting stuff about 'family meals' and kids sitting at the table, and everything else stokke says about this chair. we've been proven wrong on every count: our daughter started pushing herself away from the table at six months, so a regular chair with tray would have been fine. the foot plate is a great idea in theory, but she just uses it to stand on. the straps do not adjust as she grows, and are incredibly difficult to change while she's sitting in the chair - the only way to adjust with any accuracy. the cushions are useless, as they get dirty every time she eats and are difficult to remove and put back on. the adjustability of the seat is a nice idea, but who can remember where that little allen wrench got to amid the clutter of regular family life? i have found this chair more frustrating than useful - and none of what stokke claims has proven true in our case. my friends also have one and forget about the chair being useful as kids get older: like most kids, their son wanted to eat at the table like a big kid at around age two and a half. since then their high chair has sat empty. so much for that utopian idea.

we are ashamed to have believed the stokke marketing. this is the single worst purchase we've made since becoming parents, and was a huge waste of money. if i could do it over, i'd buy that thirty dollar aluminum and vinyl jobbie i saw at salvation army and save the rest.

5.0 out of 5 stars High Chair, April 11, 2007

I am very happy with this chair. We have had it since our daughter was 9 months and put her in it. She participates with dinner and does not have the added hinderance of a plastic table in front of her. Its easy to clean, the corners are rounded enough that she doesn't hurt herself. She has not fallen foward to need the extra contraption they sell now. Just have to push the chair up to the table!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful chair - buy it now!!, April 13, 2008
This review is from: Stokke Natural Tripp Trapp Chair (Baby Product)
I waited until my son was 15months old to buy this chair...it was worth every penny. I wish I had bought it sooner. It is soooo easy to clean and it is comfortable for him too. It is also nice because it allows the child to sit at the table with the rest of the family.

Great buy...don't hesitate.

Also, I am using it without the cushion, and my son is fine with it. He doesn't complain that it is hard, and no cushion makes clean-up even easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for writing height at kitchen table, July 21, 2010
This review is from: Stokke Natural Tripp Trapp Chair (Baby Product)
We had this chair for oldest (now 27yo) then when we decided to home-school the youngest who has developmental problems, we figured out - with the help of a occupational therapist that this chair would help ds be at the right height at the kitchen table in order to write and ease fatigue. With the foot rest you can create the perfect posture & position for writing with feet flat & elbow flat on table. We have used it in our "classroom" for 6 years now and because it is adjustable it's a perfect chair for kids to do homework at the kitchen table. We now use it as an extra kitchen table chair when needed.

No sure about other reviews that claim tipping risks as I have stood on it to replace light bulbs in the ceiling and it was very secure. Obviously no chair can replace supervision.

This highchair is great because it allows your child to grow with it. You can buy and insert for it that allows your 6 month old to sit in it and it can be adjusted easily to accomodate up to a 300 lb. adult. There is no other highchair on the market that is attractive, durable and environmental.
