I bought the sleepi system and was very excited after reading many positive reviews. We put the bassinet together and quickly realized that the mattress was far too small. After looking online I found out that the mattresses had been recalled. I had to HOUND (around 15 phone calls and twenty emails) them for a proper mattress. I finally received the bassinet mattress after a few months. They promised to send a new crib mattress when they got them in stock. When I hadn't received a new one a few weeks after they told me to expect it, I contacted the representative I had been corresponding with via email. I then received an email stating that she would be "out of the office" until February. This is when I found out that they have removed their telephone number from their website. I have now gotten word that I must send them a picture of the crib and ill fitting mattress in order to get a safe one. The problem is, that would require me taking the bassinet apart in order to put a crib together that I won't need for a few months. The serial number of the mattress is listed as recalled and the won;t send me a new one without photo evidence. What would I get out of lying about it? What a pain.

BOTTOM LINE: Your baby's safety is of utmost importance...but not to this company. Terrible customer service. Just terrible. I think of my interaction with them as a second job. It requires that much effort and causes undue frustration. The crib itself is kinda cool but NOT WORTH THE EXPENSE (financial or time).

Totally disappointed with this purchase. We accepted the high purchase price because we thought it would even out in the long run as is "grew" with our child, but we'll be getting rid of it before we even get to the toddler stage of the bed where you take one of the sides out.

It was great as a bassinet, but expanding it to the next larger size was quite a mean feat. The holes were juuust enough off that getting the screws in required literally pushing the frame with all your might against a wall to further bend the wood into place to get the oval frame together. Once that was complete the bottom support that holds the mattress wasn't even long enough to be secured to the frame on both ends so it was like having a diving board on one end. Our babies leg could have easily gotten caught, but we jammed this gap with pillows, toys, etc. One of the wheels also kept coming loose and falling off. We screwed it back on several times, but it is now stripped, so we have resorted to propping the bed up on that side with books.

I could make a few other points, but this bed has wasted enough of my time and money. Just wanted to warn other parents not to bother. Nice design in theory. Too bad it's so poorly executed.

We bought this crib because we lived in Manhattan when I got pregnant and needed to stay in our 1 bedroom apartment for 9 months of my son's life. We needed something with a small footprint. We considered a bassinet or mini crib but figured then we might have to buy a crib anyway before the 9 months was up. We had no idea how fast our son would grow. We liked that it was on wheels and could fit through door ways. It has lived up to its expectations on all of those fronts but failed miserably on the most fundamental aspect....structure. We continually have to tighten the bolts in it. Just today I went into my son's room to find him w/ one of the bolts in his mouth!!!! I was sure I had left a positive review of this thing and wanted to come delete it. It looks like I never bothered to review it and I am glad that I am just now reviewing it as I've had it for a while (my son is now 16+ months) & grown to hate this thing. You'd think for 800$ it would stay together! We have many items we have had to assemble at home as we are avid Ikea shoppers....but never have we had an Ikea item fall apart. P.S. If you decide to buy it anyway you can find inexpensive & unique sheets (sans bumper) on etsy.com

Edit: So I contacted Stokke about the screws coming out and they said that it is expected of me to regularly maintain by tightening the screws. Well I had another son. We got an Ikea crib for 100$ and I am not expected to tighten the screws and it is a million times sturdier. The foot print in the Ikea crib isn't much bigger. DO NOT BUY THIS. For 800$ you can get 8 cribs that are better.

I don't understand the complaints - We loved this crib. It went together easily for us and was super durable. Our son used it as an infant and toddler until his baby sister kicked him out and then she used it until she transitioned into our son's bunk bed. We never had the bassinet conversion, but we used the crib with the mattress at all of the heights and as a toddler bed with the side open (unlike many other cribs, you don't need to buy a conversion kit).

The biggest benefit to us, however, was the very small foot print and the ability to wheel it through a doorway. Every time our babies would get sick, we would wheel them into our room. Or, we would wheel the baby into our room so their room could be used as a guest room. If you have the room for one of those ginormous cribs, maybe this crib wouldn't seem so amazing, but for us, it was just the right thing. And, now we are passing it on to family members... My hope is that my grandbabies will sleep in it one day.

The wheels started to fall off after 6 months because the bolts got stripped due to shortness... I had to file the wood structure to tighten the bolt. Unbelievable for a product at this price level...
We had another IKEA crib without any problem which we paid a fraction of what we paid to Stokke.
Stokke strollers are fine but cribs are not...

We purchased Stokke Sleepi Crib in white. The main reason we got this is it's compact and modern design.
However, after purchasing it we realized that we don't have very limited choices with bedding.
And bedding selection from Stokke is ridiculously expensive and quality isn't great. The bumper that came in the set doesn't even fit properly. I don't know what it is about this crib but my baby doesn't sleep well in it.
She's only 6 months old but the crib seems very small already. We regret this purchase.

So we bought this crib because it looked easy to maneuver and move around from room to room. It worked well until the wheels started to all fall off. So I had to tighten them but after this happening a few times I noticed the bolts were stripped because it was too short. Stokke will not or does not care about the customers. For a crib that cost $1000 (including mattress) it was poorly designed. I had to go to home depot and get new screws that were longer and it hasn't failed yet. Now I'm dealing with my son teething and eating the paint from the rails. I bought 2 rail guards but due to the odd shape nothing completely covers this crib. The Stokke bumper guards are so thin my son just bangs his head when he turns while sleeping. Because of the unique design we can't get other bumper guards that will cover the whole bed. Also the Velcro is a pain to attach on the bumper guard. It's been a nightmare and we never recommend this crib to anyone. It's as bad as their carrier which leaves marks on my son's leg. My son is now 10 months and he has already outgrown this bed. When he spins while sleeping he gets stuck. We have researched and we will now change this crib for something way better called a bumper bed which is very popular in Korea. It's just been a battle trying to find someone who will ship it here.

I love this crib. It's gorgeous, it fits in our super small space, and it's sturdy. We've had no problems with structural integrity or difficulty in assembly. I wish that more off-the-rack sheets and accessories fit, but I knew that was going to be a problem. I make my own sheets (2 yards of fabric, cut out a big oval, sew a channel and install 3/8in elastic... DONE), and I'm gearing up to make a teething guard for the rails. So far, we've only used it in the crib size, but I look forward to it as a toddler bed too.

We bought the full system - bassinet, crib and junior - and it's grown beautifully with our daughter. Our bedrooms are VERY small, so I love the small footprint it has. The sheets to go with it are expensive, so I bought crib sheets as she got older and simply tuck them in. But I have been very pleased with it.

The crib is very good with a high quality finish. However the packaging is not very good and is more akin to a low quality product. My box was almost desintegrating when it arrived.
