5.0 out of 5 stars Dream Stroller
When my son was a few months old, I realized just how stressful it must have been for him to be low to the ground, facing away from me while being pushed in his stroller down a busy street. 1.0 out of 5 stars Unsafe product, Bad customer service!!!
I purchased Stokke Xplory less than a year ago. I dealt with inconvenience of disassembling and assembling every single time we went on a trip (because it does not fold down), basically because it 'looked good'. However, when one of the chassis part actually torn apart, it became a serious issue of safety. Having registered the product, I contacted customer service...

5.0 out of 5 stars Dream Stroller, April 26, 2009
When my son was a few months old, I realized just how stressful it must have been for him to be low to the ground, facing away from me while being pushed in his stroller down a busy street. I began wishing that a stroller existed that could adjust up and down and facing/away from a parent. I was so excited to find the Xplory, that it did exist. My hunch that babies could be stressed from the typical sitting arrangement of a stroller has even been verified by academic research. I love this stroller. The biggest drawback is the price: but I considered it a nod to the ingenuity of the designers and how unique it is. This stroller stands apart from all other strollers on the market. I am very impressed by its handling, quality of materials and adaptability.

I consider the carry cot as an unjustifiable expense because it is only functional for a short period of time in a baby's life and that period is when I'm most likely to be wearing the baby on my body for additional comfort and interaction. But once a stroller is the preferred method of travel for parent and child, the Xplory cannot be surpassed.

To others who covet this stroller as much as I did, I encourage you to keep searching for a good price. I finally got mine for $700 new (although it was a previous year's model).

5.0 out of 5 stars Best stroller, September 14, 2010

My wife and I researched every stroller available back in 2007 when we were expecting our son. We probably test drove 25 strollers.

The reason we got the Xplory is because it has the highest baby seat. You can really put the baby up high so they are closer to you when walking. The child is at a the perfect height in restaurants so you don't need to use a high chair or swap the baby into a new seat.

I also really liked that you could go onto 2 wheels with the baby. This is great for stairs or escalators where a normal stroller becomes impossible (or irresponsibly dangerous). The Xplory is very maneuverable. You can turn it in a very tight circle and easily get around any obstacle.

The stroller also lasts through the whole life of your baby. As an infant there's an attachment to hold car seats. And our son rode in it until well into their twos. We figured it was better to buy one stroller that would work for infants and then toddlers.

We now have a newborn (September 2010) and the stroller still works very well. The cloth is a little faded, but it's great to be able to still use the stroller after 3+ years. We may end up buying a new cloth set anyway as we got blue for the boy and now maybe another color would be nice for a girl.

A few cons: the bassinet didn't really do much for us. Especially at the extra price, we only used it a few times while traveling and it is huge and hard to store. The big con is that the stroller is heavy and requires two hands to fold up. And even when folded takes up almost the entire trunk. It's big, but it has to be because of its sturdy construction.

However, when one of the chassis part actually torn apart, it became a serious issue of safety. Having registered the product, I contacted customer service. They were very condescending, keep reiterating same answers, basically leading into circular conversation. The Gran finale was that one of their customer rep. hung up on me in the middle of conversation. This product is unsafe, inconvenient and has the worst customer service when it comes to repairing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars My best baby purchase...up there w/ the Papasan Swing and the Dutailier Glider!, February 13, 2011

This review is from: Stokke Xplory Basic Baby Stroller in Olive (Baby Product)
My son is now 7 months old. Therefore, I have been using this stroller for the past 7 months. We also have the Chicco Cortina Travel System. We needed one stroller for each car. We used the Chicco when we traveled and our son was 0-3 months. At that young age we used the Stokke only at home, because it had this amazing carrycot where he would sleep. Our son slept in it from the moment we brought him from the hospital and until he was 1 month old and we transferred him into his crib. After that time he took most of his naps in the stroller and also we used the stroller daily for walks. But we didn't actually travel with this stroller until our son was 3 months old and we changed from the carrycot to the big boy stroller. Our son is very long (in the 97% for height) and this was perfect for him. The big boy Stokke stroller is adjustable and when we take him for walks and he wants to sleep we just adjust it to a horizontal position. When he is active and wants to look around, we use the more vertical position. This stroller was an essential part of our life. In our son's early months he would not nap anywhere else, but the stroller...We even had to put him in the stroller inside the house to constantly move around, so he would not get bored...I don't know what we would have done without this stroller...On walks it is absolutely perfect.
We are now also purchasing a BOB stroller to take jogging and on hikes. This stroller is amazing! It attracts a lot of attention and we constantly have people ask us about it...at Starbucks or whenever we are walking...But it's rather bulky, so we prefer the Chicco when we travel by car. For neighborhood walks, this is perfect, though! We are interested in getting the BOB only because 1-2/week we want to be able to jog. This stroller is one of my favorite things I've purchased for my baby. It will be with us for years to come and I am happy I paid extra for it. I do not regret my purchase and after using it daily for 7 months now...if I could turn back time, I would still make this purchase. Amazon delivered it super fast and it was easy to put together. We had to figure out how to operate it, though...So it did take us an hour or two to make sense of everything we read in the book. If you have questions, I would love to help anyone out. I had to research for 9 months to get the best strollers out there for our son, so believe me...I compared each and every one of them...Quinny...Uppa Vista...etc...This was the best of the best!
