Knowing that I was to recieve an Iomega Zip 650 USB CDRW for Christmas 2000,I went to Amazon to research CD burning software. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not for VCDs, July 26, 2001

This review is from: Click'n Burn Pro (CD-ROM)
Click `n Burn Pro worked well when I tried burning data or audio CDs, but it didn't work when trying to burn Video CDs on a Gateway PIII-933MHZ system with 384MB DRAM and a 70Gb hard drive, running Windows ME (English version). None of the five media players installed in my computer nor a stand alone Pioneer DVD player could read the VCDs. I contacted tech support twice, and was told to try downloading another media player (Choice Caster) for my computer or try burning CDRW discs to use in my stand alone DVD player. Neither suggestion worked.

Recently, I downloaded NTI's CD Maker 2000 Professional for a free 10-day trial, available at their website. VCDs burnt with NTI's software is working well in my computer, but not on my stand alone DVD player. B's Recorder Gold (Japanese version) seems to be the only software program that can burn VCDs that work both in my computer and stand alone DVD player. But finding the English version of this program has been a challenge. I know it's available, but I'm still trying to find somewhere that sells it.

I think Click `n Burn Pro is a cheap, reliable software program for data and audio recordings. But, why not buy Click `n Burn Plus instead? It performs the same functions and is cheaper. For VCD recording, there are definitely much better software available.

Ultimately, I think the right CD burning software for you depends on what kind of computer you're using, what you plan to do with it, and how much time and money you're willing to spend finding it. Personally, I wouldn't have bought Click `n Burn Pro if I knew what I know now... shoulda, coulda, woulda...

Good luck.

Knowing that I was to recieve an Iomega Zip 650 USB CDRW for Christmas 2000,I went to Amazon to research CD burning software. I knew that the CD writer came with Adaptec Easy CD, But my sister's HP computer's CD writer came with that, and after a year of trying, we never burned one CD, so I knew Adaptec was not so easy. After reading the positive reviews at Amazon.com ,I bought Click and Burn Pro. It installs in seconds with no glitches. It uses almost no computer resources, and takes almost no hard drive space to install. Your opening screen is a simple 4 button interface, which follows: Copy a CD, Make an Audio CD, Data Disc,or a DJ Burn Mixed Mode. I copied a CD first, within 5 minutes of installing it ,and it worked perfectly. To make a music CD from Mp3s, just load them in the playlist in the order you wish them to appear on the CD, click the red record button, and and it makes the CD. There is NO need to covert your Mp3s to Wavs. first, Click and Burn does this behind the scenes without using any hard drive space. When recoding CD to CD, it does not put a copy of the CD on the hard drive unless you check a box telling it to. I have made at least 250 audio CDs,CD to CD copies, and data discs, and not one was bad, unless the file was corrupted before the burn job. Click and Burn Pro also contains an advanced application, but you problably won't need it. It also DOES NOT have a lot of features you don't need or want. You will not find better or easier to use CD software anywhere!! It also comes with CD labeling software, but use Surething CD labeler that. Available at here at Amazon.com, it too is easy to use and uses ANY brand of labels. P.S. I cannot comment on tech support, because Click and Burn works so well, I have never needed it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Click N Burn - PRO -- Not worth the expense, September 17, 2001

After reading a number of praise reviews, I put down my hard earned cash for "Click N Burn PRO". After using it to burn several audio CDs I find that I am very disappointed with this product and feel as though I have wasted my money. While it does work and does burn audio CDs, I find that the software that came packaged with the CD burner (Adaptec "Easy CD Creator 4") not only performed better, but it does more and is easier to use. For one thing, "Easy CD Creator 4" comes with integrated software to make CD labels and jewel case inserts. It also has enough templates to allow the use of several different brands of labels. "Click N Burn" does not have integrated software to make the labels and inserts. It requires the use of separate software. In addition, generally speaking, the Adaptec software is more user friendly than "Click N Burn".

I am going to dump "Click N Burn" and stay with Adaptec "Easy CD Creator 4". If you are looking for something to replace the Adaptec software, don't bother with "Click N Burn". I consider it a waste of money.

I hope this saves someone the disappointment and waste of money and time that I experienced.

I'm new at burning CDs. I had another program, but this one is so much better. Cheaper than most of the others, yet it has all the features you need to copy data or audio disks, drop files onto the CD and anything else the other programs do. I really like this program.

4.0 out of 5 stars Click 'n Burn Pro and 24x Burners, January 28, 2002

This review is from: Click'n Burn Pro (CD-ROM)
When I first started using Click 'n Burn Pro I was running a 16X max HP cd-cdrw and the program was great. I never had any problems with underrun or any other burn errors. With the easy user interface creating a cd of any type was very simple. Then one day by burner goes bad and will not recognize any blank disks so I purchased the new Sony 24x max burner. Once the HW was installed I tried to burn a disk and the software would not recognize the drive, hence the only problem I have with the software. So far there is not an upgrade to solve this issue. So beware if your HW is to new the software will not work. As soon as they get an upgrade I would suggest using no other program but Stomp's Click 'n Burn Pro. It has all the features a new user will need plus the advanced components a user will need as they get better at burning disks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent CD Burning, July 18, 2001

This review is from: Click'n Burn Pro (CD-ROM)
This is an extremely easy program to use and works flawlessly. Superior to Easy CD Creator 5.0. You need to get Stomp's patch after loading the original program. Otherwise you may find your CD-ROM and CD-RW drives may not work, (at least with windows 2000). Good value also.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and Wonderful, May 29, 2001
This review is from: Click'n Burn Pro (CD-ROM)
I love this program - it lives up to its name. You literally click and burn and viola! Music CD mastering with no learning curve. I was using Adeptec's Easy CD Creator Pro, which is powerful but not very intuitive for beginners. I've used this program to make compilations of my favorite songs from my CD collection, back-up my PC, and make data CD ROMs for clients and associates. It's fast, works well with USB and IDE CD burners, and is reliable. Using Easy CD Creator Pro I had problems with USB CD burners when other USB devices were attached. I haven't had that problem with this program, so if you're burner is USB and you're having problems with other burner programs you should give this one a try. I give it 5 stars.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Click'n Burn Pro (CD-ROM)
After several years of struggling with the Adaptec now Roxio Easy CD Package, I thought that burning a CD required a combination of a few novenas, a blend of voodoo and finally divine intervention. This product changed all that. It is easy to use, maximizes the capability of your burner and executes flawlessly. I'm running Windows 2000 on a Dell 450 P3. I've got an HP 8100i burner. I''ve burned about 35 CD's so far with a blend of music, text and voice and have not had a single problem. The interface is easy and self explanatory. They should make this product standard issue with every CD burner. It would be a boost to burner sales.

Bought program after reading many reviews. I have the newest of computers. I'm not a novice. Have had 7 other computers. Program will not recognize my 48 speed cd burner. Called tech support and never was called back. A program that doesn't work is usless. Picked up version of roxio. Works fine.
