From the Back Cover

What do you see when you look in the mirror? A rock superstar? A professional athlete? The next Elle cover girl? Well, maybe not. But guess what—no matter what you see when you look at yourself, God sees something better. That’s because God doesn’t look at your faults and flaws. He accepts you for who you are right now, and He sees you as the person you can become.  Do you want to break free of all of the garbage and negative thoughts that cloud your mind—to see who you really are? Stomping Out the Darkness shows how to break through and see yourself through God’s eyes. On these pages you’ll discover that God has had a plan for your life from the beginning of time—and, even though something went wrong with that plan, God has put everything back in order through Jesus. All you have to do is believe.

I am only half way through "Stomping Out The Darkness" and I already am compelled to tell others about this book. If you are at all interested in buying this amazing book, do it. You will not regret it. You might never realize the amazing gift you have been given when Jesus died on the cross for your sins. I have no words to describe this book except a miracle. Dave Park and Neil are amazing men. If you are not at peace in your life, you can change it. This book shows you how. God Bless You

I would recommend this book to any young teenager. I've read the "adult" version, and it would be appropriate for older teens at a high reading level. I've also read this youth version, and I thought it very appropriate for kids grades 6-9, especially. The cover art is pretty juvenile, but I just had a 9th grader (age 14) borrow my copy of this book, and she loved it.

I was looking for a bible study appropriate for 'tweens which would help combat the negative feeding they receive on an hourly basis. Boy did I get MORE than my moneys worth!!!!! Rolling around in the brains of middle school girls one would not have to search long before finding false judgement after false judgement provided courtesy of peers, teachers, the media and yes, parents! God is the only source of our true identity in Christ and Stomping Out the Darkness helps to correct the false information they have received! Also recommended are other resources written by Neil Anderson in the Freedom in Christ Ministry library.

'Stomping Out the Darkness' by Neil Anderson & Dave Park is wonderful! I distibuted this book to our Youth Team Leaders and we're all engrossed in the book. Many of us are digging deeper into our own identity and after reading just the first chapter, we all feel empowered and ready to share! I've read the first chapter several times, each time learning something new. If you're looking to help your group discover purpose or you're trying to figure it out for yourself...this is the book!

Wonderful book to help teens understand their identity in Christ. I love the adult version and this teen version takes the same information but makes it more relevant to teen circumstances. The examples are relevant to 12-18 year olds. I highly recommend this for all teens and even preteens. It's so important for them to understand that they are loved and valuable not because of external appearances or circumstances but because they are a child of God. We all want to know that we matter and are loved regardless of our doubts. This book will help your Christian teen understand and fight those doubts with the word of God! There is a list of "Who I Am in Christ" and each point is supported with a scripture reference. Also, a list titled, "Since I am in Christ, by the grace of God I am..." This list also included scripture references. Both lists are great to help a teen feel "God-confidence". There is even a Bible study at the back of the book to correspond with each chapter. Good for group or independent study.

This is a great tool to walk with a student as you mentor them or just encourage them to have a perspective on their life as Jesus does.

I read this book and found it very easy to understand, easy to implement some of the things Mr. Anderson talks about. I send this book to many of my pen pals in prison, most have appreciated it and found it helpful. It is a youth version, which I didnt' know when I read it, that may be why it is so understandable. But not everyone is a genius so it's good that he made this book so simple and to the point.
