From Old Stone Oven and Red Sky Grilling a Pizza Grill Stone. Designed in a D-shape to fit the most popular 22-inch charcoal kettle grill with hinged cooking grate. Unique shape allows the grill master to access coal placement and add smoker chips during baking for wood-fired flavor. Can be used on any large charcoal or gas grill. Hefty 9/16-inch thick. The Old Stone Oven pizza stone meets the needs of crust lovers everywhere with its moisture-absorbing thick bottom, which delivers superior heat retention and distribution for crisper, more satisfying crusts. The stone is made of the same firebrick material that lines blast furnaces and kilns, so it's accustomed to high temperatures, and its porous texture resists cracking caused by thermal shock. The flat surface of the stone easily releases the pizza when cooked. The stone can also be used in a regular oven and is appropriate for baking bread or rolls, and its heat-retaining qualities make it an ideal warming tray for pancakes or potatoes. For those who don't have a tried-and-true pizza recipe to follow, the stone even includes its own recipe collection.

I purchased this stone back in 9/10. I have used it about 2 times a week every since I received it in the mail. This is one high tech piece of cooking equipment. When you master the heat level, this is the only thing that you will eat your pizza off of. In my opinion, the stone works best with half lump charcoal and 100% hardwood briquetts. I have no problem using it in the winter months, just let the stone preheat for about a hour with the bottom vents barley opened. Keep in mind you will be dumping in lit charcoals from your charcoal starter and that's why I recommend opening the bottom vents barley so as not to heat the stone really fast.---usually I open the top vent about a quarter of the way (Using a Weber Kettle 22 1/2). Would recommend this to anyone who loves crispy crust. This has really made my kids and family very happy. Thanks amazon.

Only time will tell how long it will last but its working great so far and is plenty big enough, it just fits in my standard sized oven although I bought it to use on the grill. Awesome pizzas in my future!!

Perfect if you have a Webber Grill with flip up hinged grate. Soak a few chunks of wood like mesquite or the other types you like flavor of in water for 20-30 minutes and then throw them in the open side exposed by this stone, move the top vent around to the other side so the smoke/aroma goes across the pizza.

Big enough to put a round 14-16" pizza on. Effective at cooking the middle of the pizza dough.

I've used about a dozen times so far. Seems great.
