This review is from: Stone Care International Solid Surface Care Kit, 8-Ounce Bottles (Health and Beauty)
Stone Care International makes this really great cleaning/sealing package for granite countertops and other surfaces. I have granite countertops in my kitchen; and believe me, this comes in handy when I "seal" the countertops every year. Sealing a countertop is not hard. In general, you just follow the directions on the bottle by spraying the cleaner onto the granite countertops and wiping it off. Then polish the countertops using a soft cloth. You can even use this sealer if you've cleaned the countertops without using the companion cleaner; but it's probably best that you use the cleaner before applying the polish.
Sometimes people wonder how to tell if their countertops are sufficiently sealed. The answer is actually rather easy. Use "the puddle test." If you're washing something in your sink and some water splashes up and stays in a somewhat circular puddle, then your countertops are still sufficiently sealed. While some home improvement stores will tell you that they're selling you granite that doesn't need to be sealed ever, I would use this to clean and seal them anyway roughly one year after they've been installed--and then watch the countertops using "the puddle test" roughly every twelve months after that. Some people clean and seal the countertops every year to feel that they are protecting their investment; but this probably isn't necessary at least until the water splashes run and fail to form a puddle. In addition, the Amazon notes indicate that this cleaner doesn't leave a residue nor does it leave streaks. Amazingly enough, it's true! I love that. In addition, Stone Care International also has a phone line for customers to contact them if they have further questions. Overall, this cleaner/sealer granite countertop kit is a very wise investment for people like me who have granite countertops--they are beautiful and they should be kept in good shape. Both the cleaner and the polish can be used on certain other surfaces, too. Highly recommended.
