Handsome edition, with lucid contemporary translation. This is fast becoming the most popular English-language Chumash for synagogue and home use, and it's easy to see why.

With illustrations, cross-references, and haftorahs included in this nicely-bound single volume, it's a thrill to see a work of this quality available from Amazon.com.

This makes a fine bar/bat mitzvah gift, as it's an essential addition to any Jewish home (even one that has a chumash/Bible already).

This is a great personal reference. There is not much that I can add to prior superlative reviews. BUT for this five volume set (please note the actual physical dimensions of the books) one needs a magnifying glass to read the text. Even with my reading glasses on 2.5's it was too hard....

Arrived in a timely manner. The print is small but perfect for the shlepper who wants to make use of random moments in the day to do some learning without having to shlepp a lot more. Great for a college student! I highly recommend it!

Since the giving of Torah at Mount Sinai, it remains the most sacred words of G-d. The commentaries included on the Torah are excellent. Just as you must use "salt" when reading anyone's commentaries, you must apply salt to these as well. If you have never been exposed to Jewish traditions, the commentaries will give you an insight to how the Jews interpret the Word and put it into practice. May HaShem bless you as you read His word.
