More About the Author

USA Today Bestselling Author Lisa Hughey has been writing romance since the fourth grade, which was also about the time she began her love affair with spies. Harriet and Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys later gave way to James Bond and Lara Croft and Jason Bourne.

Exploring the complex nature of a profession that requires subterfuge and lies fascinates her. She loves combining her two passions into fiction. As evidenced by her Black Cipher Files series.

Archangel Rafe was her first foray into the paranormal but after spending time in the Angelic Realm, it won't be her last. At their heart, the Seven novels are about the dynamics of family relationships. But the really hot Archangels don't hurt.

And recently she's been immersed in the Stone Family novellas, four stories about a blended family of brothers and sister who have a lot more in common than they realize. But of course she couldn't just write about family and romance. There are complex plots, bad guys, and suspense too.

Lisa loves to hear from readers and has various places you can connect with her, although, shh, Twitter is her favorite.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I enjoyed it. The story was well written and had an interesting plot with some nice twists thrown in. The characters were original and I loved the idea of a female sniper! The author introduces all the members of the family, but concentrated her character building on the only sister in the Stone family, Jess. I assume each family member will get their own story until we know them all. The male lead, Colin, was a cool character, but I don't feel that the author spent as much time with his character growth as she did with Jess. I enjoyed this fast read and hope that Jess and Colin feature in more of the Family Stone stories. There are hot sexual scenes in this story and some mild violence.
Heat factor hot.

I can't say this wasn't well written or well edited, however, it just wasn't my thing. I liked the characters, but the story was more sex than plot. If that is what you prefer, you will likely enjoy it.

I put this story in my "Mediocre" category of book collections. I liked the story line as far as little sister getting out of the FBI to work with her brothers humanitarian organization only to find out they're involved in more covert operations. The danger factor had just the right amount of suspense. The sexual connection with the hero was great, but the time and places their sex encounters took place were totally unrealistic and drew something away from the suspense and danger of their situations. I would have enjoyed it more if the sexual tension had built up a little longer and the scenes took place in a believable time and place as in the prologue. It felt like the sex was just thrown in there wherever to make the story erotic. Not sure if I'll read any more of the books in the series.

When I read the summary of the book, I was sure I'd really enjoy it. Then I read the book. Bummer. The plot was good, the book was not. I loved the part about the female sniper leaving the FBI because she wanted to do some good in the world. That's pretty much where it ended for me. I get that the guy and girl met before and they connected but this was a relief mission. Their constant thoughts of sex were juvenile in the extreme, especially since the guy was in charge of the mission. Anyone who's ever been in an area of devastation knows that's not the time or place for relief workers to be having sex. Then to top it off, the area is unstable, their lives are in danger and all they can think about is sex. Yes it's fiction but it's totally unbelievable. About as unbelievable as the girl's step brother sending her on a mission and not telling her the truth about what he expected her to do. A quarter of the book gives you some history of the characters and preps you for the mission. Half the book is about having sex or thinking about having sex and the final quarter is actually about the mission itself. So if you're looking for a book of graphic sex with a little story thrown in as filler, this is the book for you.

Had potential but the pace is off. Sets up interesting s ting situation then resolves it far too quickly and easily. Hot sex does not substitute for good storytelling.

Lisa writes with enough detail, but not so much as to bore you to death.

Thrilling and edged with excitement. No holds barred steamy romance, sprinkled with sarcastic wit.

I totally lost an entire days conversation with my family as I read the book while they talked around me! Lol good thing it was nothing too important!

This story started well - good storyline, interesting characters with a great supporting cast. There is the promise of good spinoff stories using the heroine's brothers but it's so hard to develop good characters in the novella format - there just aren't enough pages in the book. Needed to be longer! If this author's spinoff books are in the novella format, I won't bother. There just wasn't enough meat to the story.

Loved the suspense and drama, all in a short story that can be read in an afternoon with no cliffhangers...but a continuation if you want to read about the rest of the family! Perfect for an afternoon of relaxation! :)
