I purchased this book after landing into a project to build a commercial kitchen using slipform masonry. I purchased it as an ebook online. It is definitely comprehensive and gave me a lot of ideas on what to do and pitfalls. There were enough diagrams to assist as well. I trained as a Civil Engineer and so wasn't going to be fooled by a second rate attempt to describe building techniques. This guy was certainly well read, particular and rigorous with building science and clearly has experience in constructing a house out of slipform masonry. What also impressed me was that he refunded some money back to me after I mistakenly doubled purchased elements of the book, even after I told him not to worry about sending my money back. I sent him an email showing my early experimental wall and he replied immediately with suggestions and critique. This book is definitely a labour of love by an intelligent and enthusiastic person. Worth every cent.

There are a handful of books written on slipforms. This is one of the most professional. The author devotes a fair amount of the book to tangents about energy conservation and his own personal architectural philosophies, but that aside, he gives very clear advice on the process. There is a decent amount of diagrams, and the writing is clear and straightforward.

Detailed, hands-on, illustrated, conversational, and downright inspiring. Slipform casting really seems like as-easy-as-possible way to build a stone house. Smart little piggy !
