Announcing the new Lullaby and Lovesong CD from Mae Robertson - Dream

Biography

When Mae Robertson was a new mother and the owner of three children's stores in the Northeast, a friend overheard her singing the traditional folk song "The Water Is Wide" as a lullaby to her baby. He convinced her to record a suite of traditional and contemporary songs as lullabies, and a new career was born.

Now, with four award-winning albums in her Lullaby & Lovesong Collection - All Through… Read more in Amazon's Mae Robertson Store

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb performance by a gifted artist., July 4, 2000
This review is from: Stone by Stone (Audio CD)
Mae Robertson is a superb recording artist whose songs are immersed in themes of love, fear and inspiration. Stone By Stone is her latest release and can best be summed up as a series of contemporary and traditional folk song lullabies for grown-ups. Mae Robertson's voice is honey gold and showcases her gift for song writing, as well as the song writing talents of Jennifer Warnes, Janis Ian, and John Gorka. Stone By Stone includes You Don't Love Me Anymore (4:19); Sweetheart's Waltz (3:39); Love Is Our Cross To Bear (4:49); Mr. Tough Guy (3:06); Thinking Of Your Eyes (3:09); Start All Over Again (2:19); Diamonds In My Tears (3:11); I know You By Heart (4:06); Tenderness (3:46); Lights Of Louisiana (3:38); Rather Have The Song (4:51); and the title piece, Stone By Stone (3:16). Also highly recommended are Mae Robertson's three earlier CD albums: The Sun Upon The Lake Is Low (LYR-4902-2); Sweet Dreams Of Home (LYR-MAG9903-2); All Through The Night (LYR-4901-2).

5.0 out of 5 stars just perfect, January 30, 2005
This review is from: Stone by Stone (Audio CD)
I have all of Mae's cd's now.......they are all so good, and this cd is no exception....need I say more? If you like Lynn Miles, Nanci Griffith, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Mary Chapin Carpenter, etc., you will absolutely love Mae's "grown up" cd. Give this one a try, you won't be sorry!

This is the greatest album. I now own all four of Mae Robertson's CDs and I love them all. But, this one is very special. Very upbeat and positive. The songs really made me think and I love that. The musicians are great. I recognize alot of these names. I would say buy this one for sure!
