I recently remodeled my kitchen! This backsplash is amazing, eye catching, and just fabulous! This looks great with my stainless steel appliances because it's not just stainless steal it's stone combined as well so its not too much! I purchased a lot of things off of Amazon for my kitchen project and was not disappointed in any of the products I purchased! This backsplash was the best purchase for my kitchen project! The shipping was also fast!

I bought just one sample sheet because I needed some thin strips like these on hand in case we need filler pieces for a shower we are doing in similar materials. It is very attractive, and the stainless pieces, unlike most stainless tile, is not brushed or satin finish, but brushed with a swirl/circle pattern. I think the term is "flywheel" finish. (The circles all get cut off because they have a bigger diameter than the 5/8" strips.) Anyway, it is a bit more interesting than the usual plain stainless. I personally would never use this tile as a stove backsplash if you were actually going to ever cook in your kitchen. The stone strips have a rough finish & cleaning would be difficult at best. It would look great as the backsplash above a counter or in a bathroom -- anywhere it would be seen up close because it is so interesting to look at. And certainly use a medium to dark grey grout, even black, to enhance the look.

These tiles are awesome! I ordered 62 sq. feet for my kitchen remodel and am NOT disappointed. The stone seems to be a travertine-like substance in a medium charcoal shade (if that is "blue" stone then I must be color-blind). The surface of the stones in not smooth (the product description says "honed" but they are nowhere as smooth as my honed travertine floor tiles.) but not too rough either and blends well in contrast to the smooth metal tiles. The metal is a cheap grade of stainless - similar to the same grade as used on nearly all kitchen appliances nowdays. The metal is not solid but a thin "cap" over a pink ceramic base. Don't worry, the pink does not show.

The cutting of both types of material can be accomplished easily with any diamond cutting tool. I used both a tile table saw blade as well as the new Dremel power hand saw with a 3" blade. A 4" angle grinder would also work so long as it has a diamond blade.

The only problem was that the metal left sharp burrs on the cut edges. These would be sharp enough to scratch or cut skin and flesh if you were to wipe your hand over them. Therefore, it became necessary to "dress" each piece of cut metal with a small Dremel detailing tool equipped with a stone wheel. A fine metal file would also have worked fine.

Occasionally some of the metal caps that were cut would fall off their ceramic backing and would require a dab of common glue to hold them in place until grouting. Once grouted, the tiles were rock solid and permanent.

Grouting was a bit difficult as the spaces between the rows and tiles are only 1/16" in size.

Absolutely amazing tile for backsplash. Very modern. Overall effect is shiny because of 2 colors (light and dark) of stainless steel elements. Very chic.

My husband and I had been looking for a backsplash and this is it. I agree that some of the stone has a rough texture, but the combination of the stones and metal looks amazing. Love it
