Book Description

October 2, 2012 Stone of Tymora
Praise for Stone of Tymora:
 “This fast-paced fantasy . . . is a perfect pick for . . . readers seeking powerful characterization and complex, fast-changing stories.”—Midwest Book Review
“[T]he lucidly described action and swift pace will keep the pages turning and anticipation of further adventures simmering.” —Booklist
“The pace never falters, the cast is positively festooned with pirates and menacing magical creatures (such characters from parallel stories as Drizzt Do'Urden the Dark Elf also put in appearances) and Maimun's narrative ends on a cliffhanger that will leave readers slavering for the next episode.” —Kirkus

Overview:
Meet Maimun—an orphan who couldn’t imagine how unfortunate it would be to discover a stone that makes him forever lucky. Fleeing a powerful demon named Asbeel, Maimun stows away aboard the ship Sea Sprite, where he encounters a cast of characters well-known to Salvatore fans: Captain Deudermont, Drizzt Do’Urden, Wulfgar, Catti-brie, and the dwarf Bruenor. Drizzt becomes a mentor to Maimun and aboard Deudermont’s ship, they sail the treacherous seas of the Forgotten Realms. Hunted by a demon, haunted by a mysterious spellcaster, and chased by a pirate, Maimun, with Drizzt’s help, must unravel the secrets of the Stone of Tymora before his luck runs out!

2.0 out of 5 stars A Poor Effort December 15, 2012
By Psy
Format:Hardcover
The book can be summed up by the following lines in the book:

"You would be Malchor Harpell," I said. "I'm Maimun, and this is Joen. We've been looking for you."

Then, on the very next page...

"You could take the stone from me any time you want to," I said, and the wizard nodded. "But you want me to hand it to you."
"I am not your enemy, young Maimun."
**"How do you know my name?"**

Apparently, Geno Salvatore forgot that the character introduced himself to the wizard on the previous page. This sort of thing, alongside a poor protagonist (I am really at a loss as to how G. Salvatore managed to make an orphan who has so many bad things occur to them into a completely unsympathetic character) makes this book a tedious read.

To put it extremely bluntly, do not buy this book. There is much better fiction out there for you to become absorbed in.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great February 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
First off, to avoid any confusion the ebook states: "Originally published in hardcover in three volumes: The Stowaway (2008), The Shadowmask (2009), and The Sentinels (2010)"

There are no breaks to denote the three different books, they are just connected together in different Parts and Chapters.

Onto the book itself. I've read every book R.A Salvatore has published, this collaboration with his son reads more like The Spearwielder's Tale (1993) than The Ghost King (2009). The characters are flatter, pacing a little slower. It's not a bad book, it's just not that A+ Quality you would expect. It took R.A. time to perfect his craft, and maybe his son Geno will be able to do the same.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good and quick read January 2, 2013

Format:Kindle Edition
Good story although it did have some confusing parts and too many people coming back from the dead but still worth your time.
