A Stone's Throw Away follows three young Palestinian boys from the Dheisheh refugee camp on the outskirts of Bethlehem. The film features Khaled, Ibrahim and Rami, who are growing up under Israeli occupation. They share their changing dreams and ambitions in this film that offers an unusual look at life under occupation, as seen through the eyes of teenage boys. In the film they talk about their feelings of fear, hopelessness, anger and revenge and memories of their friend Kifah, whom they witnessed being shot and killed. This remarkable film provides an intimate insight into the children's thoughts and lives, raising questions about how children are influenced by the conditions in which they live, and exploring the effects of politics and violence on their daily life.
A Stone's Throw Away won first prize for best documentary at the Norwegian Short Film Festival (2003), Amanda Prize for best Norwegian documentary (2003), Human Rights Award at the Sidewalk Moving Images Festival in Birmingham, Alabama (2004) and was nominated for The Norwegian Government´s Human Rights Award (2004).
