I am an avid film score/soundtrack collector, and this is the best score I've heard in the last several years. It's even better than "The Fountain" score, which I also love. I haven't seen the film yet- only watched the theatrical trailer. But, after listening to the score "The Stoning Of Soraya M.", I feel as if I've already seen the film. The music emotes the intensity of the subject matter. I was particuliarly moved by tracks 5 and 16, "They Looked Away As I Died" and "The Stoning...". I could close my eyes and picture Soraya's suffering, and that of her family. All the tracks on this score were wonderful, which is rare as there are usually a few songs I don't care for on each album. My advice, don't miss this one.

This is a truly emotional journey from Debney. He definitely should get more dramatic projects like this one. You feel not only the pain and sorrow but you feel just there, seeing it, living it, and all just thorugh the music. Thanks again! Mr. Debney.

I am also an avid movie soundtrack collector and also I might add; one of the few who stays around long enough to read the film credits!!!!!!! I made it a point to find out who wrote the score for this movie.

To "Lostsoul" I would highly recommend you see the movie or get it on DVD. You won't be disappointed.

The music is atmospheric and beautiful with enough of a Middle Eastern flavor to complement what you're seeing on the screen. John Debney researched the sound, feel and mood of this type of music very well.

I highly recommend to everyone you buy the soundtrack ASAP as it is in limited supply of 2500 copies (I think).
