great starting point, December 2, 2003
This review is from: Stop Bush in 2004: How Every Citizen Can Help (Paperback)
If you were wondering what to do, where to start, how to help, this is it! Like the other reviews state, this is a great, concise book that provides a starting point. Not very long, but a lot of information. I have not been very active, other than VOTING (and that is more active than some citizens!), but this shows how you can do MORE. It lists a variety of ways to become involved in the political process, so if you are a beginner, like me, you could start with a little ...... or you could do everything! The other thing that is nice is that he tells you where to go for more information and background. Great job, Mike! after reading the rude comment of Feb 2005 - I wanted to add a little more: Yes, this was a good book, and yes, they did not "STOP BUSH" but don't be a sore winner. That makes the republicans look like losers. What I am glad about is that this book made people more aware and helped to get them involved with the process - hooray. Although they did not succeed in the election, hopefully, some people will be more active in the next election. I don't want to put people down because they are democrats or republicans - this country is great because we are supposedly open to democratic debate and people have the right to vote and should use that right responsibly - and I think Mike tried to show readers how to be educated and involved. What will the next book be titled?

SECOND EDITION WORTHY READ, June 5, 2004
This review is from: Stop Bush in 2004: How Every Citizen Can Help (Paperback)
I have a copy of the second and find it very useful. The book contains a plethora of action ideas and resources to use. All of the contacts are there to take action with the Kerry Campaign and the various ways you can volunteer for Kerry, along with ways to disrupt the Bush Campaign, and influence the Conservatie media. What I found most satisfying was the 70 companies to boycott who support Republicans. No more buying at Wal-Mart or eating at Donkin Donuts for me. I certainly recommend this for anyone looking to take action and help bring about regime change in November.

Excellent Actions, November 4, 2003
This review is from: Stop Bush in 2004: How Every Citizen Can Help (Paperback)
First, the book is more like four stars, but if you're a progressive, you'll know that Republicans go around to all the liberal books giving them one star ratings, anyone giving a book about defeating Bush a one star rating has revealed their true colors. (They've brought 'Dude, Where's My Country' down to 3.5 stars!, that's a five star book!) The book is great at providing background information and knowledge for all of us looking to take action. Whehter it's protesting bush, canvassing neighborhoods, evaluating how we spend our money, or influencing the media. If you're looking for a good action to take, it's probobly there. The only drawback is that you want a little more, but of course as another review put it, the book would cost more and be much longer. It works very well as a handbook and motivational tool. I recomend it espcially to those who have never been active during a presidential campaign.
