Stop Hiring Failures,
This review is from: Stop Hiring Failures! (Paperback)
Don't know of anything like it. A fast read. In just an hour, you learn a dozen easy-to-use techniques that prevent you from making the most expensive mistake in business -- hiring the wrong person. In the opening pages you learn all the mistakes you've been making. Then step-by-step the author gives you detailed directions on what to do so you'll be sure to hire the right person. Essential for key executive hires, but works at any level. If you knew it would be this easy, everyone would do it, but almost nobody does. Makes you realize the impact it could have on your business if all your key hires were great ones. The author clearly speaks from experience and has directed hundreds of successful key hires. By following the practical questions and step-by-step outline at the back of the book, you can put it into practice immediately.

Sixty Minute Turn Around!,
This review is from: Stop Hiring Failures! (Paperback)
Wow! What an outstanding book! As the best selling author of numerous books and a nationally known consultant paid to hire top performers, I'm amazed at the incredible value packed into this short book. Springer wastes no time in providing a clear, concise explanation of a simple but effective selection process.
He hammers you on the need to analyze your culture and values when hiring at all levels, a vital factor my experience indicates most companies repeatedly fail to consider. He shares questions guaranteed to generate the honest answers required to separate top talent for mediocre performers, questions that will blow you away in their effectiveness. I constantly seek out books that explain exactly how to increase business success. I'm searching for those gems of wisdom that help separate good companies from the truly great. I've read many hundreds of these books but never uncovered such valuable insights in such a small package. I personally plan to buy and distribute this book to all of my current and potential clients. In addition, I plan to recommend this book to every participant in every one of my national training seminars. It's that good! Myers Barnes

Hiring mistakes can be costly and painful to both the organization and the individual. This book helps you avoid the pitfalls by telling you how to get it right the first time. I especially liked the parts on making a "good match" by ensuring that the candidate will fit with the organization's culture and environment. The book combines that kind of keen insight with practical, step-by-step How To's. A must-read for anyone responsible for hiring decisions at any organizational level!

It takes top people to create a top company. Most managers, including me, rarely interview so ours skills are poor. Others interview more but just repeat their hiring errors.
In one hour I learned more about employee hiring than I thought possible. This tightly worded book contains a wealth of practical information that will dramatically improve your ability to hire employees. Buy this one!

Impressive!,
This review is from: Stop Hiring Failures! (Paperback)
This is an informative and very well-written book by an author who is extremely knowledgeable and, quite obviously, an expert in his field. It's not only a valuable guide for the human resources professional, but would be extremely beneficial (and should be a must-read) for anyone within an organization who needs to be part of the interview process.

Not just for big companies...great tips for the small office too!,
This review is from: Stop Hiring Failures! (Paperback)
This is a fast, well written read! As the owner of two small companies with a combined total of 3 employees, I need to act fast after losing my key employee. I was very worried about the process of replacing him, and extremely fearful of a bad hire. Steve's book was just what I needed and has taken the fear out the equation. I jotted down notes as I went, and immediately had a plan of action for going after my new hire. Since the book seems geared to larger companies, I contacted Steve with some specific questions (through his my space page)and he was able to give me solid advice and help me make the principles work in my situation. I also realized a crucial error I had been making all along in interviewing, and the light bulb came on as to why I had made some bad hires over the years. I was going about it wrong and it is so simple to fix! I feel ready to take on this task and am actaully excited to start the search for this new hire. For $13.00, this is a no brainer AND a bargain...order a copy today.

This book is excellent. It explained the entire hiring process and helped me understand past errors. But much better- I found the author's MySpace page (google- steve springer hiring) and asked him questions about my specific hiring needs. He graciously answered them all and put me on the path to superior hiring decisions. That's the most profitable $13 I've ever spent!

This book is extremely effective in explaining the hiring process and providing straightforward, practical tips. I would recommend this book just for the sample questions in the appendix. They're that good.
As suggested by another comment, I contacted the author through his myspace page to discuss my hiring needs. His suggestions and insights were invaluable. This free personal advice was definitely well beyond my expectations when buying this outstanding book on employee hiring. |
