A self-help guide to dealing with self-destructive behaviors,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Stop Running Away: Confront the Guilt, Regret and Remorse That Haunt You (Paperback)
Written by a licensed professional clinical counselor, who left the ministry to persue counseling full time, Stop Running Away: Confront The Guilt, Regret & Remorse That Haunt You is a straightforward self-help guide to dealing with self-destructive behaviors and the negative emotions that come from them. A very serious but thoroughly "user friendly" guide for do-it-yourself personal improvement, Stop Running Away uses acronyms and professional guidelines to help the reader identify the sources of behaviors that cause "skeletons" of permanent remorse, whether stemming from a traumatic childhood, hanging out with the wrong crowd, use of intoxicants (for some people even one drink is one drink too many) or other causes. Strategies for taking steps to not only repay the wrong, or find a way to make amends even if the wronged party cannot be found or apologized too, as well as improving oneself in order to avoid similar wrongs in the future, are outlined in meticulous detail. An excellent turnaround book for anyone struggling to change ingrained yet harmful behaviors, Stop Running Away is very highly recommended reading.

This wonderful book reminds us that it is never too late to change. It represents a call to action...a challenge to all those who see the need to change their behavior. The book promises to help...and it delivers on that promise.
There is a wonderful old Turkish proverb that comes to mind, "No matter how far you have gone on a wrong road, turn back." James Green, author of "If There's One Thing I've Learned." |
