Book Description

From the international bestselling author of 'Get Organized! Your 12 Month Home Clutter Killer Guide' comes this all new guide to home storage.

Over the years we are all guilty of gathering a variety of trinkets. Some items we keep have sentimental value and remind us of times past, some we hold onto just in case of emergencies or because we believe that the item may be of use one day, and some items we keep squirreled away are only still around because they have been forgotten about! As each year goes by, we add to this ever expanding collection with further items that fall into these categories and more. Birthdays, holidays, and other important events come and go with alarming regularity, and before long you're looking around your house wondering why you can't close the doors on your closets or guest bedroom!

Storing all these items that we accumulate over our lifetimes, is a tedious chore that we are all faced with, many times throughout the decades. I remember very well the time my Mom and Dad first made me decide on which toys to get rid of to clear a space in the clutter of my little shared bedroom, and when I first got in trouble for simply hiding all my toys under the bunk bed instead of cleaning up 'properly'! Even as adults, most of us still loathe having to take the time to clean and organize.

However, if you want to have a clean home to warmly invite guests into, and to stop losing various items to the gremlins in your walls, then you have to start doing more than just throwing everything into a corner and forgetting about it until Spring Cleaning time!

Follow the various tips and tricks discussed in this book, to start making the maximum use of the storage space your home can provide, and to start storing all your items appropriately, neatly and safely. I'll be honest - it's not going to be done in a day, but following my strategies and going through your home room by room, you'll soon have a home that can comfortably fit everything you need (and more!) whilst remaining entirely clutter-free.

Then all you have to do is maintain it, and that is a much easier and faster job with your new storage solutions in place!

Plus all purchasers of this book are entitled to download the Gleam Guru Kitchen & Inventory Pack absolutely free!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Book from the Queen of Clean April 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
When you have three kids (and hubby) it is very easy to become inundated with stuff and lose sight of the purpose of each room in your home. Enter Colettes new book - she takes you through each room of the home outlining what should (and shouldn't be there). The coverage of the bathroom made me laugh - I have heard of people storing books in their bathroom but board games? Although I did once visit a bank client who had bananas stored in his toilet (yuck!)

Anyway back to the book :-). For ideas and practical advice Colette really knows what she is talking about (and her first book is great too). Buy this book today and while your home may not look as pretty as the pictures in this book (mine doesn't!) it will look so much better if you put these ideas into action.

Okay so I promised my wife I would clean out a few rooms in our home, organize and throw away all the stuff we have accumulated over the years. But honestly I needed a little help. So I went to Kindle to see if there was a book available that would give me ideas and guide me through this task. I bought this book about simple home storage solutions and I have to say it was just the ticket.

It starts off with the sentence, "As we go through life we accumulate a whole lot of stuff." How true.... how true. Wow could I relate, I thought. I poured myself into this, what I soon found to be, very helpful book. The author does a good job taking you through room by room, explaining what to do. I especially appreciated how the book helped me with ideas on how to maximize the limited space we all have in our homes for storage and when all the work is done how to how to become more clutter free.

So many books of this ilk are written in a dry, clipped way, almost as if they are a series of quick articles written for the fill in bits in women's magazines. Colette Leigh injects flow and personality into the book, so it makes a subject that I find difficult interesting to read. It's not too long, so I was able to read it in one sitting...and now I am primed to leap into action!

We moved a few months ago to a smaller home and even after a lot of throwing things out, there is still too much clutter, especially as we have so many books in each room. Even bearing in mind that the author lives in the States where homes are generally somewhat larger than they are in the UK, I have picked up some good ideas to implement - nothing startling, but many imaginative ideas, and all making good sense...just a few changes and it will be a lot better.

I don't do any of these things mentioned, but I laughed at the list of things not to have stored in the lounge/sitting room; things the author has seen people store there.

I like, too, the free Gleam Guru Kitchen & Inventory Pack offered by the author (there's a link in the book); I think it would be especially helpful for people who need to organise their kitchen, especially for cooks who have a large family or small kitchen.

This book didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. Everything was either dated or common since. I was hoping for something new and this information is same old ideas.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing new
I thought the information was dated and didn't apply so much with today's lifestyle. Wanted to find something new to do with storage and organization and it was not in this book.

Unlike many other reviewers, I didn't find this book very helpful at all. I don't consider myself an organization guru, but she didn't seem to have any new ideas at all. Read more

The only nice thing I can say about this book was it was written in friendly tone. It offered not one new idea or interesting solution for storage or organization.
