5.0 out of 5 stars These are the best option
A popular competitor makes one comparable that is 34 inches high. This one is 30 or 31 depending if you leave the upper half of the top on. A comfortable work height is 34 inches. The advantage to these storehorse 10008-1's is that you can easily remove the upper half of the top cap, and neatly and snugly fit a 2x4 into the top of it, to bring it up to 34 inches. You...

1.0 out of 5 stars Wobbly Horse
I ordered this product based on the great reviews here. I just received them and I am sending them back. First, they are too wobbly to be useful. Second, the plastic top bar moves around and it is almost impossible to clamp anything to it. I need a stable horse, not a rocking horse. The design is a good idea but it is not executed very well.

You could also make two small holes in each side of the black top cupping the two by's and add a couple of short decking screws to give it all the more stability. I have seen the competitors model at 34 inches of plastic, and unfortunately it is all chewed up due to saw blades running into it. This Storehorse, has the advantage of the 2x4 that you supply being the sacrificial, and easily replaceable work surface. You could use a 2x6, and shorten it to the exact height that you need. That is nice when you are using it to support and outfeed plank for example on your table saw.
These have the advantage of holding up to 1500 pounds per pair, which is 500 more than most of the competitors. Yet they are surprisingly light, and store away taking up only 2" of depth.
They look good, fold away very easy, and definitely deserve 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heavy Duty Sawhorses, November 24, 1999
This review is from: Storehorse 10008 31-Inch Tall Sawhorse with Top Protector, Pair (Tools & Home Improvement)
The saw horses have been lightweight and easy to store after use. They have been easy to transport from jobsite to jobsite. I like the versatility of moving them around and not having to break my back.

These are nice, handy, sturdy sawhorses. Although lately ours are usually set up with a number of boards stretched across them, the fact that they can fold for storage is a nice feature. They are lightweight and when not held down by the weight of your project, can blow over in a windy environment. They assembled easily and seem to lock quite securely in place. I think these are a handy addition to a shop and compared to old-fashioned wood horses, conveniently portable for transportation to a job site.

These Sawhorses are strong, but light weight. They are easy to transport and setup. When folded for storage, they take up very little space. A good buy!

I bought a pair of these 2 years ago to replace a pair of home made wooden ones. I thought the price was a bit high at the time until I got them and starting using them. They weigh next to nothing, they fold in to almost nothing and they hold nearly a ton. I use them as a bench for my 12" miter saw on job sights. I recommended them to a friend and he has them now, loves em! I brag on them to everyone I know who still uses the home made kind! GREAT BUY! I use them so often that I am just getting around to buying some of the optional accessories.

I bought a pair of these when they first came out, and I got lucky. The sawhorses are great: strong, stable, light and a breeze to pack up when the job is done. I'm buying a second set because the first is always in use. I won't buy any other model, or from any other manufacturer, these guys got it right the first time.

Bought these to replace a set of folding horses I built from scrap over 20 years ago...They also fold flat, are one third the weight and don't pinch my fingers when I fold them...Very sturdy, I think 4 of these could support a small car...A good value for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars impressive product, June 3, 2004

Always needed sawhorses. Never got around to cobbling some together because I didn't have the room to store them. Tried these based on all the 5-star reviews. Wonderful product, well deserving of the reviews. The ty-wraps are for shipping; you can take them off --and they are not at all "wobbly". You'll be glad you ordered.

I bought these after reading the glowing reviews and I have to agree they are very sturdy, light weight, and fold up into a very small space. (I hang them on the wall using a ladder hanger hook, and they're very easy to lift up to the hook.) The "manufacturer's description", however, is incorrect. First, the horses themselves have 500 lbs. molded into them as the weight limit, not 600 lbs. (1200/pair). Second, there are no rubber feet on the 10008 model. I would like to have had the feet for my slick epoxy garage floor, but the feet are really just a continuation of the plastic legs, extruded a bit beyond the leg to form two round feet, inside of which the metal leg reinforcing rods are inserted. The manufacturer was nice enough to send me some rubber strips that probably go with another model, but looking at the feet of the 10008's, there's no way you could put the strips down there. Even without the rubber feet, though, the sawhorses don't slide around super easily like I feared they might on the epoxy floor. Despite the inaccuracies of the product description this is still overall a great product!
